Usually in sig threads we just post on 1 backround and thats the entry . But all the more dangerous with 2....

I like the knife, but the clouds filter on the blade creates too much contrast, I think. Unless it's in the shadow of some plant or something, I wouldn't expect such extreme random dark to light gradients.

Then again, I've never made metal that well myself =)

Slime - I agree the contrast is a bit exagerated...no clouds there though

It almost looks like Damascus metal, if you made the white/black clouds on the blade small and more lineear (more liney), it would look like Damascus metal, which is cool. I just lost my train of thought.

First time entering a sig contest, but hey weapons are good thing to play and think up for me. So here's what I made up:

After seeing the entries from last month, I know I don't stand a chance, but what the hell. This really lost a lot of the detailing when I shrunk it up, and it's probably still too big. This is my actual family crest that I have been working on for a while now. This contest gives me a reason to pull it out and finish it up. here is a bigger version.

Some good detail there insider. Inspired by DL I would assume. I can't think of many better people are these parts to be inspired by. I would work on the "pomel"? I am not sure what it is called but that part between the handle and the blade which gaurds the hand.

Wavmixier - looking pretty good. quite large for a sig of course, but that's okay...these are for fun as much as anything Only thing I would recommend on that is working at adding more realistic textures to the objects....lose the "photoshop clay" feel that they have now.

Insider - important thing to remember is that these are thin sheets of iron/steel with a very sharp blade and a nice square back....not big rounded aluminum chunks. simplify...you'll have much better luck. (ooh, and please note that the 'blademaster's sword is not a katana, nor is the sword in your sig!)

Uhh, honestly no DL didn't inspire me. The Blademaster of Warcraft 3 did, note his sword is a kitana, now that I look at my Kitana I wish I would have made it much longer. Oh well heh. Its a stag sword now

edit: Oh yes WM I forgot to mention, I just called it a handguard in my .psd . But I drew paths for every part of the sword, and that guard was the fucking hardest part. I couldn't find a good way to render it up with a metallic reflection. So I just stuck with what I got.

However! Today High School was let out at 11:00 A.M. for a snow storm. Hehe, went to my friends house and got his swords out, went outside in a feild of snow and small shrubs. Those shrubs are very demolished right now, and the blade was resharpened and ever so strong. A new meaning to the word Frostmourne . And expect a rendition of that same sword I used today, as a sig entry for this month.

computer crashed in a middle of a save, all i got now is a bad atempt to beautify and a corrupt file. hurrah... back at the drawing board. stick around folks, she just might give up.
