Preserved Topic: Adobe Illustrator - Looking for online resources/tuts etc

Just started playing with Illustrator and am looking for any help in regards to online resources/tutorials etc?

any illustrator gurus about? (Twitch perchance?) TIA ~Vp~

Looks like Adobe has some usefull info. I just might explore this gradient mesh cocktail some.. it has potential. You have to sign up with your Adobe ID and a confirmation mail routine.. if you haven't already. Don't really know of anything else for IL, except the manual.

There are some great resources for Illustrator here : http://www.elementkjournals.com/iai/backissu.htm
Only some of the tutorials are public, but it really is a good resource...It's pretty much the only one I can think of outside Adobe's site....Feel free to pick my brain if you have any questions or if you get stuck.

I think there are a few (very few) tuts on Designs by Mark.

AI+PS=very powerful tools.

VP, is there anything in particular you're wondering about?

I'm no guru in AI but I have been using it on-and-off for about four years so I may have picked up a trick or two. I'm writing on a tut for shattered text in IE (I posted a pic somewhere in the shattered text thread in this forum which was made in AI and PS)

I might be able to help if you know what you're after .

Thanks Nimraw, I am actually at the beginning of the learning curve, so much like I learned PS, I shall learn illustrator (hours and hours of tuts and practice).

If I get any specific questions I shall ask. at the moment I am trying to understand exactly how illustrator will fit into my workflow and exactly what it will give me as an asset over and above using PS. Those sort of things I am trying to get an appreciation for if that makes sense? Alot of the graphic designers around work here actually recommend Freehand but I a m going with illustrator for the time being.

I know you asked specifically about online tuts and what-not, but when I first started using illustrator I got the adobe classroom in a book and found it well worth the money. nice concise lessons and easy to follow along with and none of the lessons too long. I know you can find it on amazon used for a decent price. (~$19, I tried to put link, but for some reason it wasn't working, oh well). it really helped me through all the frustrations I was experiencing early on and it covers everything from making a shape to print preparation. I love illustrator now, so much so that I might just marry it if my wife will let me.
