Look at this thread:http://www.ozoneasylum.com/21327 I tried to answer a question but in my first post i made an mistake. Thus i pressed the edit button but to my surprise saw the first post (which is not mine) in the edit form. Maybe i clicked the wrong edit button lets try again i thought. But the second time i start editing the post above mine. Then tried to edit the first post and an error turns up. After using the back button i ended up in the "new post form" i used to send my answer. Re-submitted it and another answer turns up. However i could use the edit button from the last post to edit my first post. |

I'm still having problems editing: it hasn't worked since this new Grail was enacted. Every single edit gives me a: "This post is too old to be edited" error. Obnoxious... |

Are you sure this isn't only happening with posts that are in fact too old to be editied - i.e. older than four hours? |

Older than four hours, when did that take effect? Well, I'm guessing when the new Grail was ushered in. Odd rule... |

The logic, I think, is to prevent people from posting something inflammatory (for example) and then coming back later to edit their post and erase the evidence of their deed. That's just one scenario I can imagine. I suppose the problem is figuring out just how much time to allow before the post is closed to editing. In some cases, four hours would be too long, while in others it might not be enough. It's quite a dilemma, actually. |

The logic behind is that I don't want to reread your posts over and over again because you decided to add another line, link, whatever. |

just edited a post in another topic and after posting, decided to change the wording of my edit. but when i hit the edit button, my first edit disappeared! no no no. this is a bug. erasing edits is like being censured by the edit machine. |

velvetrose: are you by any chance using IE? Hitting ctrl-reload should have loaded the right edit page - IE's caching is a bit flaky. |
