Topic: Seasonal Logos (Page 1 of 1)

You all know the April 1st logo - and you have seen the new easter logo when the grail launched (no, that was not the 'grail' logo - it's the easter logo, capice?)

How do you like that? Would you want to see more seasonal logos? The grail has the ability to add logos for anyday of the year, or any day in the future (and it has a list of all easter dates till 2099), and switch them automatically.
What days would you like to see honored by a special logo? Who'd draw all these logos? and when's Doc's birthday? Questions over questions, tune in next time, when 'drop out' continues...

i would like to see a x-mas logo and probably a logo valentines day?

That'd be cool. One thing I love doing is surfing over to Google on holidays and famous people's birthdays to see what they've done with their logo.

I think if someone wants to submit a logo for an obscure day they should be able to go ahead and do it. Maybe a simple email form somewhere?

As for major holidays I'm not sure. If you have an open competition the logos will already have been seen by lots of folks. Maybe the logos could just be submitted to one of you finglonger types and you can choose?

yes, I have the psd - and will upload it again, soon. Watch the faq, I'll add a page.

Since installing the logos requires ftp access to the asylum right now, I fear I'm the obvious canidate for the mail-logo-to person.
Emailforms for the profiles are 'in the making' - expect them within the next week.

The poster has demanded we remove all his contributions, less he takes legal action.
We have done so.
Now Tyberius Prime expects him to start complaining that we removed his 'free speech' since this message will replace all of his posts, past and future.
Don't follow his example - seek real life help first.

i also like InI's idea. if its your own birthday, it would be cool if only you see a special birthday logo....if that would be possible

alas, a logo that just one person sees is not possible...

I sugest we post the banner file to the photoshop forum and open up a competition of sorts for all peoples favorite holidays. The logos could then go into a repository to be randomly shown on appropriate days.

Of course we don't have to accept all the different holidays that people come up with. But it would be fun none the less.

My problem with open competitions is that nothing will ever be a surprise. It would be nice to come over to the Asy one day and see a new and shiny logo at the top that I've never seen before.

Is there a faq that has images of all the different logos ever used?
I don't think I say the one for easter, but I remember seeing the April 1st one.

no, there isn't a faq page, and there are only two special logos for now.

- Doc's original logo PSD.
Feel free to manipulate it for any day and send it to me via mail (tyberius_prime@you_know_what_to_remove_coonabibba.de), and I'll add it if it fit's and think something up if it collides with another one.

Tis way too big, but thought I'd post it anyway.

Nice logo, the only problem is that the snow wouldn't blend with the rest of the background. Cover that issue and you have a winner.

I like it - and I believe it blends with the blue background, WarMage .

The winter holidays are traditionally the times with the lowest amount of traffic of the year (except easter) - maybe we could get it a bit smaller bytewise, and use it then...

does the logo have to be Specific dimensions or can it vary by a reasonable amount on the width and hight?

I would have to assume he's referring to how the falling snow simply cuts out at the bottom of the image

so it does - 'find the subject' is always a game that should be played more, I bring forth to my excuse youth and long and faithfull service.

I'd assume it can vary quite a bit in width, but the height should probably be the same or smaller...
