That's why I carry guns. You can bring your shiny little knife. But you better get a running start if you think you're going to stick me with it! :-)

What worries me is that the studded wrist guard is just camp enough so you might not take someone with one of those seriously.

I'd still put good money on being able to best them in one to one combat if I was armed with a broom handle but I'm not sure I'd want to put i to the test.

to me it sounds like it was destined for a glass cabinet. if it was imported by any sort of a suspicious character, or for any suspicious reason ("uh, i need it for my food preparation, i'm a chef!"), i doubt that they would have simply issued a warning.
