so i just wanted to try something new.....
i know hat this is really not the best artwork in here, but i just to give tribal art a shot.
any comments or suggestions for improvement? maybe i should change the colors a bit?

first of all, i do like it... but i'm really having a problem figuring out what, if anything, it is (my first thought was wheat for some reason heh)
i think the color is fine, though, it seems to really fade into the lighter bg. maybe make it just a smidge brighter?

i quite like tribal art, in all it's forms, but it's easy to 'over do' it. i think what you've got there will be quite nice

and yes, i do think it would be fine if it were a bit brighter... not too much...just a lil
of course, you don't *have* to try that. heh

I agree with Lacuna, this sig is very nice but making it a little brighter could improve it. I would also suggest adding more room between the letters of your name to make it more readable. Other than that, well done Mas.

I actually like it a lot. Subtle but unique. My only problem is the MAS part. The font you chose for this seems a bit to fancy and almost over shadows the art itself. Somehow I don't mix tribal art with calligraphy in my mind. Seems conflicting ideas...Unless that was what you were going for in the first place, sort of a anti-yin/yang sort of feel.

I also thought of wheat when I first looked at it... Change the font and I think you have a keeper...

well, i tried to re paint some of the edges and to sharpen it a bit
edit: oh and this one is brighter and sharper...
so which one is the best?

I like it mas.
I also agree with the comments above. To my eyes, the "mas" part detracts from the great work in the "tribal" part.
Perhaps try to continue the tribal theme by using a font with a more organic feel to spell "mas"? Or even drawn, as twigs of wood, (but the "S" would be hard to do )
I still like it the way it is though
Have you done a bigger version btw? I bet you could work some real detail into a design like that? (I always work on an image at a much larger size before reducing for a sig )

oh tao...i have made a VERY big version of this one...i could have printed it on an A4 sheet with excellent quality....but last night i accendantly LOST THE BIG VERSION
all i have left is the small version of the sig
so i should try to change the font...well....let me see what i can do with it

It kinda looks like an ear of corn, but maybe that's the old Indiana boy in me talking.

About the sig... perhaps put in a bg to make it easier to see? Also I think font needs to be a little more readable.
But that's just me...it's your sig, man.

mas: I like the brighter sharper one. For your name, maybe you could try a different style for the text. Right now its pretty hard for me to tell it says mas.
