Rebels 'execute' 49 Iraqi troops

Wow.

I thought there were just "terrorists" in Iraq...since when did the term "Rebel" come up? Does anyone have any reliable information on this new turn of events (if real)?

Rebels? Now that is a chilling term, indeed.

Just depends on how the writer wants to spin and how they want their readers to see the people commiting such acts. Rebels, insurgents, I don't think so. Rebels do not execute people and insurgents do not decaptiate hostages.

Perhaps it was a translation error, perhaps not. In the end, a rose by any other name is still a rose.

If the Media changes its "description" of what is happening in Iraq, that can represent a shift in attitudes. It can also change perceptions. Waging war on Terrorists is one thing, but against Rebels? Insurgents?
