I had SimCity in my collection of CD's somewhere. Yesterday, I thought hey why not it's been like years since I've played lets see if I still know how to earn some cash... apparently on installing I made an astonishing discovery... I don't know how to play!! |

In most build-your-city games, in order to earn money you need to get it from your population - usually from taxes - or from trades you make with adjacent cities/countries. |

Remember to satisfy the needs of your population, to keep it growing. Build houses and whatever they want to have (if they want fun, build theme parks; if they want security, build police stations; an so on...), providde them enough resources, be it food, cloth, whatever. |

SimCity is super fun. The basic strategy to not go bankrupt is develope slowly. You dont want to build 100 miles of road and have no cash to paint lines. let people move into your existing zones before you build new. if you play your cards right, you should have hours and hours of seemingly wasted time poured into your little city. |

I've got SC2000, never could figure out how to use it. I'd run out of money before I was a quarter finished. Also the sound effects and music sucked. Also tried playing pre-made cities, but alas, they were crap. |

The best thing about SimCity was the disasters like the giant Godzilla wreaking havoc on your poor citizens mwhuhuhuhhuh! |

Sim games rock. I've always beena fan of games that use emergent systems in their gameplay, simcity being one of the most classic examples. The first simcity game chewed up endless hours on my old 386. Sim city 2000 then added isometrics and I was in love. Sim tower was quite addictive too. |
