ok... I know transparency is prased here..

my problem in this was that when I made this with the color fade and saved for web..it looked all bloky

but when I added a Matte it looked like I wanted it to on here with the transparency

..any way here It is (er.."they")


The Transparent One->

The Dark Maroon Matte->

The Light Marron Matte->


As You can see...The Transparent...Came Out Blocky....so..

.gif files actually don't support partial transparency. It's all or none, sorry.

:-\ Hmmm...well that sucks...well is there anything that does...or some plugin..

or is that just it...

while they don't support partial transparency, they can most certainly get the effect you want here - if they couldn't, you wouldn't see abotu 90% of the .gifs out there because they'd be too ugly to use.

In order to get help with this, you'll have to detail how you created and saved the file though.

well basicly what I did was ..after selcting the certen color blue I wanted

I went to the Gradient Tool ...edited how much Color Vs Transparency I wanted In It ...than Put It In

I then used the Horizontal Type Mask and Typed up What You see in the pics (INSANEdrive)

Than Swiched back to the Gradient Tool, but this time in a diff. color (orange)...edited how much C vs T like before

Applyed that...

And when I was Satisfyed with what I Made...

I went to File>Save for Web...

My setting I set It for befor clicking Ok was..well see for your self




the only diff with the other two..is that they had Matte( Dark and Light Maroon)

and thats it...Quite simple really...

you need to have a matte color still for it to blend properly. the fact that there isn't one leaves nothing for the blue to blend into, and so it is just solid...

check the faq here if you're unsure how to make it work for both backgrounds.

INSANEdrive: the FAQ is meant to be used. What are the Asylum colors/fonts?, What is the background color of the Asylum? and How do I make a transparent graphic?
