Humor in the Bible? Scholars say the Old and New Testament are riddled with humorous references and aim to set the record straight at a three-day congress beginning Monday, "Laughter and Comedy in Ancient Christianity."

hmm interesting...

a bit off topic sorry briggl

they did it again

ooohhh boy...*cough* first amendment*cought*

Christianity neither is, nor ever was a part of the common law.

I am sure there are alot more writtings from Jefferson stating and repeating that Christianity had nothing to do with the foundation of U.S. Government.

Majority of founders indeed were christian, but the government was in no way form or shape based/inspired /developed by or on christian principles/beliefs/etc.

Hmm, seems to me to bolster the idea later writers added in their own opinions and commentary.

Considering some of George's monolagues, him playing the part he played is not without irony.

That is terrible! The Bible does not have humor in it and you all should be ashamed! You and the rest are all going to Hell!

There now that I said what you have stereotyped me to say, I will put my own opinion forth.

That sounds cool! Finally someone is breaking the mold of solemnety and is finding the humor in the Bible. I love stuff like that. I don't know if you posted that as a joke or not Briggl, but I think it is about time someone starts realizing that God does have a sense of humor. I mean c'mon, duck-billed platypus... Jesus being witty... He does some cool stuff. I personally think He has a sense of humor from all the stuff He does to me. Irony and the like. He knows I laugh at it too or else I am sure He wouldn't do it.

Hey, and if you guys want something else about breaking the mold and being humorous, check this Christian P*rn Stite out. I found it great, and the founders hilarious.
(for all of you who are appearing a little shocked right now, it is a site commited to helping people (mainly men) get away from p*rn, it isn't a "holy p*rn" site.)

The bible is not funny, but those who believe it are hilarious.

Thanks. I try to be funny some times. But seriously, there are parts in the Bible that you just have to laugh at. I mean c'mon. Calling your son red one or hairy one. That is hilarious!

You are right, though. The Bible's messages are very serious, and I am not being funny this time. Eternal Death is a serious thing to think about. I'm not talking about Hell either. The Lake of Fire will be a lot worse. Just make sure you are positive you know where you are going when you die. I am.

Nope. I just saw the article about a serious investigation by biblical scholars into the humor in the Bible and posted the link looking for comments.
