Simple, comprehensive, and a good, intelligent use of flash.

It definately is an intelligent use of Flash. Quite a rare thing, imho.

Great link

I just finished the 4th book last night actually, with God's final message. I can't believe I didn't find this book (er, books) earlier. Any chance they're gonna do the whole trilogy (quinlogy?) in movies later? Maybe depending on the response to this one?

Meanwhile, the trailers for the movie are on apple's site: http://www.apple.com/trailers/

I couldn't tell you how many copies I bought of the first book. I would invariably give it to the uninitiated and have to buy another one.

Ah, that's about all I got to say right about now.

Who else is excited?! (don't mean to get off topic)

The flash movie on Yahoo is also structured exactly like the guide is in the movie. Certainly, a computerized book in the movie would be quick and simple (usable), and they took it to the web just like that. I'd say it worked out well.

Do you really think a person with two prominent heads would not be noticed at partys on earth?

There's a quick glance at Zaphod's second head in the third trailer.

Yea, even having just read the book(s), I already don't care much for how they portrayed his 2nd head.

It's not exactly fresh in my mind, but that didn't seem to be a problem in the book... If I remember right, he didn't get the second head until after the party that gets mentioned (albeit a flashback of a sort)... Yes? Then I don't remember him going back to earth after that. But I could be wrong, there's a first for everything

Actually, the problem of Zaphod's conspicuous second head is described in Mostly Harmless (book 5/5). Zaphod had a covered cage over his second head. He pretended he had a parrot as the party he was at was a fancy dress party.

Source: Page 620 (mid-page) of book 5 in the 5-part trilogy.

And yes, I had to look it up.. I don't know the book that well I just vaguely remembered it.

I have been under the assumption that his heads were next to each other on his shoulders.. like a left head and a right head. It seems it would muck with the story if he lost one of em... hmm... I have the Ultimate book, so the individual stories kind of soup all up together. Good price too!

abb - Yep, I hadn't got that for when I posted that last bit. I finished it about a week or so ago and forgot about this thread when I get that part. But around that time parts were getting a little bizzare as they were traveling along the probability axis and all, and I wasn't thinking too much about normal things like a guy with tow heads

izz - Yep, that's the way I pictured it too, a left head and right head, since one would be drinking or staring off into space while the other was having a conversation or whatever. And I have the Ultimate book too. Even having read the whol ething in the span of about 2-3 weeks, I think there was enough of a change of pace between books to keep them seperate for the most part. (Plus, in the Ultimate book, there was that "extra" book/chapter/whatever it was, "Young Zaphod Plays It Safe." That was supposed to be pre-first book, right? I kinda missed how that tied to anything I think. It started to make sense for a minute, then I lost it ::shrugs:: )

"Zaphod plays it safe" isn't officially connected to anything. It was one of the scraps they found on DNA's computer after he died. All those scraps have been combined in a big book called "the salmon of doubt", and apparently Zaphod's story made it into the Ultimate book.
