Anyone using one of the many packages available?

I'm looking at the 'logitech' package as I've been pleased with their other products I've used but I see there are other brands of which I know nothing.

Most curious I guess about 'range' and interference.

Almost forgot... most important keyboard feature for me... the large 'Return/Enter' Key. Can't stand those little ones.
thnx.

We've got two users here who use the Logitech solutions, and they love them. YMMV

Logitechs are cool, we got their cheapest wireless combo around this time of last year and there's nothing at all to complain about. very solid. you really feel the difference to a ~6yr-old keyboard, though I guess you wouldn't need one made specifically by logitech for that, heh... battery life for the mouse is longer than I would have expected, too, so I'd say if it's logitech and not too pricey, go get it.

The versions we have are the ones with the little recharging cradle for the mouse. Just set it on/in the cradle at the end of the day. Works great.

I have been looking for a new mouse for meh at work... and that MX 1000 is about *everything* I could need. One problem I have had with Logitech's previous mouses, or mice and some would say, is that my ring finger and pinky are not confortable on em. But they fixed it with the 1000. woohoo!

Ya... that damn mouse... the MX 1000... covet covet covet! =)

There's one problem there but I could likely overcome. I'm a 'lefty' but other than 'positioning' the mouse to the left of the keyboard I don't swap out the buttons and I did, for years, use the 'ergonomic right-handed' mouse but, I'm a bit concerned with that new 'thumb-button' control. Guess I could just ignore it.. or train the left ring finger. If I can cut a deck of cards with one hand...wait a minute I do that with my 'right' hand. Talk about crossed circuits! =)

Anyway... I'll have to see if the price of that MX and separate cordless keyboard
can be justified... so-to-speak. Convert those yankee bux to canadian play money and it starts to get a bit iffy.

One thing I couldn't find in the tech-specs...and perhaps there's no reason to be concerned... but I'm wondering about the 'range.'

I'm just in the process of rebuilding the computer room.... and I do mean re-building... down to the studs.. insulation..drywall the whole bit... and I'm looking to put the 'box' on rollers.. on the floor well to the left and back from/of, the keyboard.... back of box and USB facing the wall. So I'm a bit concerned with the strength and direction on the signal.

Overly so ya think?

And thanx for what's come back so far... very helpful.

I actually stopped using the wireless keybords/mice combos. Thought they would be more useful than they really were. Ended up I couldn't utilize it that much because the mouse pretty much has to be on the table to work anyway.

Makes more sense for presentation type settings though.

Anyway I'd assume the range is good enough to get you as far away as you can still see the screen with any usefulness

Not sure what you mean. What am I missing here? <bg> Mouse is either on table/desktop (maybe on pad) or under on a 'slideout.' (maybe on pad)

oh... are you saying the opticals don't like the pads?... yes maybe I think you are. Back up now.. I"m old and slow. =)

heh,

I think he means, there is no real reason to use wireless stuff... because you are close to the compy anywhoo.

As far as a keyboard, i see the point. One of my keyboards for my computer is directly under my lcd. No reason to have no wire, just the pain of continuous battery changes.

The mouse... eh... I like not haveing a wire to get tangled up. I don't like the constraint. It's a bugger.

Ahhh.. I didn't understand. Understandable. <lol>

I want the wireless because it's a pretty long run from where I 'want' to put the box and where I want the keyboard/mouse. To achieve that setup, even when stretched well beyond comfortable, the cords don't reach. I don't like that kind of tension. =)
