We are thinking of buying a website and rebranding but may have to change the domain name for legal reasons. The question is would this destroy the search engine ranking of a very well established and successful site |

If you change the domain name? I would have to say yeah, it probably would. Not that I know that for sure, but common sense would seem to point in that direction. After all, it could be the same exact site, but with a different URL the search engines are going to see it as a completely different site. |
