I believe IE supports 8 bit png transparency, Eddie Travers from http://dhtmlnirvana.com I believe uses transparent .png alot on his interfaces.

It involves a workaround with directx to get "full support". I know not the details, but its possible.

newbilieke: IE do NOT support PNG's alpha transparency natively. To make them work in IE5.5+ you must enable a proprietary DX filter (sic!) via one of the thousands PNG fix available.

to be absolutely clear:
PNG transparency as good as GIF transparency: yes
PNG alpha channel transparency: no

I initially thought this was Flash. In realizing it is not I am doubly impressed. That's a nice piece of work.

Superbly cool!
Extra fun to surf it through Safari on OSX

I'm just a bit peeved, what the heck is that kite program?
One would think that it might be appropriate to explain what it is and what it does before offering it as a download...

website looks really cool. I'd like to try the program out but none of the links work right now.
I've tried some of these shell replacement programs before and they were kind of quirky. I'd still give it a shot if I could download it

Certainly looks a little more interesting than a simple theme change. Certainly novel.

That site is something else in itself though, huh?

The shell is great. It is faster than XP's standard theme. Lots of visual effects. Best I have found yet... THier site is awsome too, I wish I had the skills to put something like that together...
