With all the interest that 'the' moon post has generated, i thought it would be interesting to discuss 'other' consiracy theories, for example:

The Kennedy Assination ?
Was the man jailed in Spandau prison, really Rudolf Hess ? ( I have a personal interest in this one)
Roswel - What really crashed in new Mexico ?
Princess Diana - Oh this one could be interesting...
LSD, ACID - Was is really developed by the CIA ?
Pan AM flight 103 - What was that all about ?

This is just a few examples to get you going, but as always, this is your agenda...

Well, I am not up to par on all of those. But here is my take on a few:

Kennedy: Does anyone even believe the magic bullet, lone guman theory anymore?

I believe it was a coup. Kennedy opposed the Pentagon on their Cuba agenda, refused to ok the 'Northwoods' plans (PDF) which were to set in motion a pretext for invasion, and EO 11110, where he tried to restore America's currency and take power from the Fed is also quite interesting. He also wanted us out of Vietnam, which could have saved countless lives in a useless war. The benefactors of his assassination were numerous.

To bolster my theory, take a look at what Johnson did and it is very clear just who he was working for.

---

Roswell: Disinfo campaign. Muddying the well with distraction.

---

LSD and Acid invented by the CIA? No, it was first synthesized in 1938 by a Swiss scientist. The CIA however did many experiments with regard to mind control and this information has been released to the public for quite some time, although for some reason it is still on the "conspiracy" list. See MK-ULTRA. Declassified documents here.

---

You left out the big one though, 9/11 and its aftermath. I suppose that would need it's own thread.

A couple others of interest:

The Franklin Coverup Scandal

CointelPro

Operation Gladio

Gulf of Tonkin Incident, proven to be a fabrication by the Pentagon Papers. (The WMDs of Vietnam)

Pearl Harbor Fore
knowledge

Federal Reserve System, Banking, and money. (the "root" of all conspiracies)

Ho humm...

I don't ever recall hearing the whole CIA/LSD thing as a conspiracy. It has been well known for a long time that the military did a good amount of testing with it, primarily in the hopes of developing a 'truth' drug.

It was certainly not discovered/developed by the government, however

As for Roswell, I know what happened there - but I have no evidence of it.

I probably wouldn't be here, if I did.

As DL already mentioned, I can't recall ever hearing about a LSD-CIA conspiracy. I always thought it was pretty common knowledge, just like the use of speed for combat pilots and elite forces is.

I'm surprised that Ram left out the fore-knowledge of the iminent invasion of Kuwait - and how we conviently let it happen.

I tried unfortunately all I could find was a thread that basically talked about an old thread where you and bugimus had discussed this, that thread seemed to be gone though

From what I could gather you had in a previous occupation seen things that had persuaded you, but that it would be very unwise to try to prove anything today (which I fully understand)... But that's about all I could find on the subject

Personally I'm 110% sure that there exists life on other planets in the universe, probably even intelligent life. I'm not equally sure that there are intelligent life that are
A. close enough to detect us
B. mastered long distance space travel
C. smart enough not to have blown themselves up

I'd like it to be so though even if I wonder if they wouldn't see us as lethal organisms best left alone

Didn't come to mind. Our history with Iraq and the Hussein regime is very interesting, but I can't say I've really dug into the topic. Being that Cheney was Sec. of Defense at the time, I certainly lean toward the possibility.

There is an entirely different realm of conspiracy with relation though, the Bush family. Prescott Bush (Brown-Borthers Harriman) and Hitler? Bush Sr, CIA ties, Zappata oil, drug running, possible connections to the JFK assasination... They've been active in this country's affairs and have much longer tentacles than most people realize.

Oh well. If you feel like elaborating I'd be interested to hear about it, as I am sure others would be. Otherwise, since the information you were privy to was allegedly important enough that you could have been deposed, is it safe to assume that you are not talking about weather balloons and Project Mogul?

-----

Now with regard to the actual term "conspiracy theory" does anyone else think that in modern times it carries far too negative a connotation? That perhaps it has been demonized by media and government and when people think of it they automatically relate it to some loon chasing after astronauts with a Bible or tin-foil hat types like David Icke?

I mean, a lot of these events have considerable circumstantial evidence that would stand up in an unbiased court of law, others are actually admitted to and we have documents to prove them, and yet the term conspiracy theory immediately makes any allegations as ridiculous. Under this type of societal mentality, now all government has to do when something bad comes out is call it a CT and that's that.

For instance, I happened to see a clip on Hannity & Colmes in which Rep. Rangel brought up PNAC. Hannity then used the "conspiracy theory" card, three times I might add, and the conversation ended and broke to commercial before Rangel could retort. Now most people watching FOX would not even investigate the matter being that Hannity is a God to them, and that is sad. This happens far too often and it seems that the population has become much too accustomed to accepting the official story. How did this happen? Most Americans have been dumbed down to the point where they no longer use their mind to question things, but let the media moguls do the questioning for them.

"Let us never tolerate outrageous conspiracy theories concerning the attacks of September the 11th - malicious lies that attempt to shift the blame away from the terrorists themselves, away from the guilty."

Man oh man oh man !! I remember when t his guy was still an up and rising sports presenter here in the uk, then all of a sudden, he was wearing blue tracksuits and running amoke with his claims to be the son of God ! WFT is that all about ? I think us folk from the UK that remember those days can admit that we never saw it coming. It is almost like George W Bush coming out and claiming he is really a post op transexual........hmmmm, perhaps i should have used a better example, the more i think about it, that could almost be beleiveable.

One conpiracy theory i would love to hear discussed more is the whole Princess Diana story... what is that all about. There has been so many theories floating about, that there has to be some truth in what people are saying surely, but as with most things, the truth will reveal itself one day, the point is, will any of us be around long enough to say "Damn, i knew it"?

About Princess Diana I believe she was pregnant when she died, the reason for this not being found is that they embalmed her before her body was sent back to england, where as Dodi Al Fayed's body was not. And the doctor who embalmed her claims that he got an order from the British embassy to do such. Someone's trying to cover up what really was happening or happened there.

In France it is said that embalming someone was illegal, 'not sure if this is right or not, just what I heard.

Yup.

That is why I am most reluctant to re-post my knowledge. I know, but as I have no evidence to offer, it essentially lies in the same realm. There is (or used to be) evidence - I never had it in my hands (thank god), but I have seen it. I suppose that is a bit different, but still, as I cannot produce this evidence, it hardly matters.

Hum.. What makes you say that? In my opinion, she was actually important, maybe not in the way you (Ramasax) would have liked her to be, but don't forget she was a real idol, somebody who saved lives and gave a lot of herself for good causes, and somebody who motivated millions of people for years. People indentified themselves to her, not only because she was famous and maybe the best looking person in the Royal Family , but also because she remained a true person and humble despite of what happened in her life (getting married to a prince doesn't happen to everybody - thank God ).
And she died as a martyr... I suppose she "had" to die of a violent death to keep the myth alive.

Lincoln pissed off the bankers. He tried to get loans to fund the war efforts from various New York bankers, but being they wanted interest rates ranging from 24-36% he simply decided to print his own (greenbacks). They did not like that one bit.

Also motivating Lincoln's assassination was his planned policy to go easy on the defeated Confederacy. This flew in the face of members of his own Republican Party favoring harsh treatment toward the defeated South, and of business types eager to profit from "Reconstruction."

Follow the money.

A brief lesson in 'communication' -

When you have something to contribute to a conversation, providing a context for your message will help the other people involved understand what you are saying.

When explaining what it is you meant to people who didn't understand, being specific is very helpful.

Simply saying "example" without providing an idea of specifically what it is you mean wastes your time, and anyone else who is trying to follow along.

Saying that the "example" was supposed to be for 'norm's post' is not very helpful. Saying "This is an example of a martyr" would be the best way to post something that is an example of a martyr.
