There already was that kind of practice for other sex marriage. Worst there was white marriage to make someone gain the nationnality of the other for money.

In practice no different from what's going on for ages, but all of a sudden it creates extra static just because both participants have the same gender.

Somehow I'd expect the fact that someone isn't marring out of love to be more important than the gender issue.. but I guess that's why I would never be offered a job in tabloid media

More power to them. The system is fucked up to begin with by involving itself in personal matters, which is the point I think they are trying to make.

I sure can't argue with someone working the system whether they be gay, xian or purple people eaters.

I agree gov't should not be involved in such matters, nor churches for that matter.
