Yeah yeah, don't get carried away, the support for CSS 3 seems only to be for CSS Columns, it'll be a long time before they'll have much more implemented I'm sure, let alone the fact that no other browsers will support CSS 3 for a long time, IE 7 for example so far hasn't any plans to implement it.

Tab re-ordering is cool though!

Cheers,

I've downloaded it, but not installed it yet. Friday is not the most peaceful day at work
By CSS3 I think they mean at least the Selectors module and eventually the Colors and Backgrounds & Borders modules. Will try it tonight.

It's just adding a little more support - it already supported a fair amount of CSS2, SVG and CSS3.

But ya, wewt when it's stable.

I just installed FF1.5 and they redid the 'Options' menu. I like the tab ordering drag-and-drop functionality they added. Sadly, my current theme was no compatable. It was a really nice theme. One complaint is that it doesn't support the scroll bar .css!

That's something to complain to W3C about, not Mozilla (though they apparently have no problem implementing their own madeup features like '<canvas>' lately).

Too bad about the incompatibility with some of my themes and extensions - but I'm loving this new beta.

@ WebShaman,

I figured when I installed the software, some of my extensions and themes wouldn't work. I was however unprepared for my web-developer extensions to crap out. Oh well, I'll live on.

Oh yeah, and so everyone knows... I have a fix for you that will make old extensions for 1.0 WORK in 1.5B and higher. Here you go.

quote:
Open about:config in Firefox, right click on the listing area, select New > String and then type in app.extensions.version as the preference name and 1.0 as the value. That it, you?re extensions should now work as expected!

Great tip! Works like a charm!

Now we just need one to get Themes to work, and I'll be happy as a pig in s**t!

In his Firefox 1.5 developer highlights post, Simon Willison gives some insights I hadn't realized about what's underhood in FF1.5.

Damn, they want to kill me with the CANVAS tag and E4X !!!
