Does anyone know a way to get a hold of Boy Scout merit badges? Boy Scout dealers won't sell them to you outright; you have to have the completed requirement forms and stuff. I even tried a story about designing a Web site for my nephew's troop and needing badges to scan. They still wouldn't let me.
I've been filtering eBay for weeks now waiting for the ones I want, but the only ones anyone sells are old antique ones that go for $50 or so. I've even searched the Internet for online sales with no luck.
I'm going to stop by the local thrift stores when I get a chance. I know they sell old uniforms, but I doubt I'll find the merit badges on them that I want.
Maybe someone knows a cousin that works at a Boy Scout store and who owes them a favor?
By the way, these are the one I'm looking for:
Oh, and yes, they're going on a shirt. I'll probably put one of these on there, too.

From what I remember from being in Boy Scouts, they were distributed through the regional office, which ordered them from their supplier. I know we had a large stock of patrol badges at our troops office, but never had any spare merit badges laying around, always had to wait for award night.

Have you tried going to the Good Will or Salvation Army stores to see if they have any uniforms on the racks with merit badges on them?

hyperbole: Like I mentioned, I'll try to hit the thrift stores when I can, but I doubt I'll find all the ones I'm looking for. I'd rather just pay $2 apiece for them if I can than spend hours hunting them down.
WS: Thanks, but no. I'm actually putting them on a shirt.

Actually what might be even quicker is to go to your local sewing shop, because they have sewing machines now-a-days that can be fed images and produce embroideries from them, so you may be able to get the badges custom made like that.

I like axle's idea, but ugh ... so much work. Besides, do they even take 31-year-olds? I was thinking about faking whatever forms are necessary and posing as a scoutmaster, but ugh ... the costume.
Maybe Skaarjj has a better idea.

Wes, I have to be nosey for a moment.
I'm curious as to why you'd want to put scout badges on a shirt to begin with. Especially since you're a smidge past the Scouting age Is this a new fashion trend? Why can't you use badge knock-offs? OOooohhh.....you're planning on knockin over a bank or something while posing as a Scout, giving the organization yet another black mark on their reputation, forcing them to disband all their secretly evil troops and thwarting their plans of World domination??

How much are those things, anyway? Like $1.50, right?

There is another way to if you have the pictures, some shops can actually embroider logos on caps an shirts. Maybe they could use the embroider machine to get the logos on the shirt.
maybe one off these could help you?
