We just wrote a webapp down at work and somebody else's Javascript in the app is causing IE not to select any text. I was just wondering if anybody knew what causes this.....

I mean you can select text by triple clicking on it, but you can select it by clicking and dragging.

Thanks,

Would it be silly to ask for a link/copy?

I'd look for some sort of an onmousedown event handler attached to the page.

Hehe, Naltabyte came to me with the opposite problem but in Firefox and Opera :P
As bitdamaged said, an onmousedown or onmousemove handler might be the problem. If it's returning false, null or something like that it might interrupt the selecting.

Are you sure it's down to JavaScript, and not absolutely-positioned, or floated content? IE is notorious for behaving badly in that respect.
