As I said before, I update it, but I didn't create it. Any and all criticism is welcomed. I am seriously considering taking the time to site and completely redesign the site from the base up, and trying to convince the person in charge of the site (my mother) to use my version instead.

Short on time, but wanted to drop a couple quick thoughts -

1) right off the bat, all I can think is.... ugh, this is *ugly*. There is nothing wrong with the general choice of layout and general color. But the specific tones chosen, the complete lack of attention to typographical issues, white space, cohesive coloring and containment is really killing this site.
And it is a damn shame that a site for an organization like this is so lacking and uninviting.

2) there is a severe lack of cohesive navigation. I shudder to think of needing to make use of this site. the mix of links that are internal and external, the complete lack of heirarchal organization - I don't know where to look for what, and every where I look there are links of seemingly different categories that make my eyes jiggle.

3) the code
that's all I can say about that...

This site is in desperate need of a major structural, organizational, and stylistic overhaul - and the quicker the better.

The first time i looked at the code for this site, I thought to myself, "They paid for this?" I am starting to get back into the webiste creation arena, mainly trying to stick to my CSS/HTML mix sites that I've done in the past. I hope to have somekind of new site in a few weeks, but it make take alittle longer, gotta pry myself away from WoW (My main is almost to 60).

Thanks for the input, now to find emp...

This site was created in 2004. I have been explained to after much complaining on my part that the hospital paid for the art, not the code. Still, I am working on a redesign of the site and should have the first version up in about 2-3 weeks. I am not only doing this site but also working on my on personal site. My inspiration is the CSS Zen Garden. While i use the garden as inspriration I am in no way using anything from that site. I feel dirty just thinking of lifting code from someone else, even if i did acknowledge them as the creator.

I am still hoping to hear from emp on this, but i know he is a busy man.

I don't know what that means...?

If they paid for a website, they paid for....a website. That means graphics, code, layout, and everything else that comes with it. As for the 'art' that they paid for...?: I don't see much in the way of graphics - a logo that I am guessing already existed, a couple of grey gradients, and a badly done photo collage.

If they're happy with what they got, that's up to them, but if someone actually sold them on the concept that as a web designer they provided only the 'art', then they were swindled.

FWIW.
