I made a quicky (4hr) dynamic sig with PHP/GD (as I always seem to be attached to GD) which, get this, makes a Rubik's cube and tells you how it was scrambled.

I have found and interest in Rubik's cubes since I got my *first* Rubik's cube on Christmas 2006. I've been able to solve my cube within 3 or 4 minutes most of the time. I've used it so much the stickers are starting to peel.

It makes eight random moves and can possibly scramble back to a solved state. Enjoy!

Love it, apart from the background .
Good work on figuring this out - I'm no judge if it's correct though, Rubik cube's always were beyond me when I toyed with them 1.5 decades back

so long,

Same as TP.
It GD allows to generate an animated GIF, it'd rock to show the difference phases of the scramble. If it's not, you could show the scrambled cube on normal size, and the different phases in half size next to it.

TP: I fixed the background. Didn't know what to use, I didn't want it to be close to any of the colors. So I made it transparent.

poi: Thanks for the idea! I found a PHP class that animates GIFs with GD, I'll see what I can do.

Hehehee. That`s how I solved mine, back when the world was young. I mean it`s cool how the box spins around and everything, but the problem was just that the stickers were on the wrong side.

I find that a lot of people "solve" their cubes that way. But to keep it official, blue is flipside to green, red flipside to orange, yellow flipside to white, and if blue is on top and red to the front, white is on the left side. Just thought I'd throw that out.

Oh, and BTW, the 6 center pieces never move. So the center piece indicates what color the side is supposed to be. Just another fact about the Rubik's cube.

I made it so you can set the moves if you wanted. For example, this interesting design can be made:

At this time I'm not going to explain what denotes what because it may change later. You may figure it out yourself if you want to spend the time.
