hello, i am looking for a photoshop script or photoshop action, that saves all the layers in a psd to a png and gives the png the name of the layer.

is that even possible? if so, could someone help me out? thanks!

convert file.psd file.png

I've had mixed results, but it seems worth a go.

reiso: but that would only turn the visible result of the psd into a png, wouldn't it?

I found these two that I think come close to what you want, except for naming the png the same as the layer.

no, I mean, the output would be a single psd showing whatever you'd see at the current layer state - not a layer by layer export.
(not that that makes much sense in some cases){

It's been several years since I used these products so I may not remember correctly, but it seems to me that either MNG Construction Set or GIF Construction Set from Alchemy or GIF Animator from ULead will do something like that. Although I doubt that any of them will name the images the same name as the layer names.

Ah. No, it does layer by layer, much like it would do for an animated GIF's frames.

i accidentally found the menu option:

File->Scripts->Export Layers To Files

which does exactly what i was looking for and is directly integrated in photoshop.
