Here I go again, on my journey through life, I have this story to share.

I am in the midst of many changes in my life at this moment, and as I was walking in the streets of my town, a guy of indian origin
starts speaking to me in english.

English is not the local language, but he "felt" I did speak english.
He was well groomed, and immediately stated that his "studies" had led him to see this, that, and that other thing in my aura.
He was dead on : what he brought up were my sincere preoccupations at the very moment.
But then again, westerners preoccupations are obvious - relationships mostly,
women and work to paraphrase the same guy later in the discussion.

He was not threatening, and I was intrigued, so I "gave in" to his talk, through which he guessed a few things very right about me.
Common places, but puzzling, still : the number of sisters and brothers I had within 5 minutes for one.

Finally, he got to questions about money and how much would I give for orphan children. I stepped back big time, of course, but as he was not threatening,
had given me a small gift and some cool advice, I accepted to buy him a vegetarian meal.

He was not trying to influence my beliefs, and quite consistant with his, which was interesting - it's just the money talk that got me upset.

The question here is "scammer" or "enlighted" individual? Anything goes, discussion, discussion, fluff, talk, fun and stuff.

Entertainment. Price of admission: One vegetarian meal. Good review from the audience.

Well and well... the thought that he could SPOT some key things about me at a glance hurts. Like it was written on my face.
The rest was fun. The "perception of aura" thing is at the same time an old trick, and a fascinating perspective to me (because it's hard to prove right or wrong).

Yeah, the price of the meal was ok for what I got.

Why "or"?

Why not "and"?

Your story disturbs me... And more particularly DL-44's comment
I have had a sort of similar encounter some time ago, it is not similar in the way that this woman I met in a night club did not ask anything in return, but she paid a disturbingly great attention to me, as if she knew... She took care of me and gave me her number "just in case" - she was with her husband and I was with a couple of boys I had just met (although she did not know that), and she probably though "a girl with two boys is bad news", because she sensed that I was making a mistake of some sort, and made me promise to give her a ring if I was in any trouble. Although she did not quite see that I needed protection from my own stupidity Thank God I was lucky again, this time.

Anyway, going back to your story, I really wonder, could anyone understand or "guess" anything about somebody else, just with a little experience and observation?

When I was about 17, at college, I remember seeing my German teacher one morning and feeling very strongly that something was wrong in his personal life, and guessed it was his relationship. Turned out his wife was filing for divorce.
I also quite often guess before most people when a woman is pregnant for example, or when somebody is "not quite right".

Now, I would never think of making a living out of it, it would just be too sick

In conclusion, I do think that it is possible to know a lot about other people, only you have to be interested...

Absolutely, cold reading is useful in seduction, sales, poker, etc.
I hate not controlling my body language to that extent. But it was fun, still.

@DL, yes. And then again, no : enlightment in "making money by guessing people" is not my kind of spirituality.

@Kimson, women are extremely, naturally gifted at reading body or face language, they have that intuition for plenty of reasons that make sense
(filtering process in mating : women seek for perceived Alpha males, are hit on countless times, and must filter quick, so they are hard wired to "radar" stuff about potential mates
more than males, who are hard wired to finding a beautiful and faithful companion essentially - then again, instinct is by far not ALL in us, but is a driving force to all our thoughts and choices).

Now, some things do NOT make that much sense science-wise in that area. Guys around, ever watched a hottie who was turning her back to you,
did this from a distance, and then all of a sudden she "feels" she is observed and turns to you?

Works for all genders, we can all "sense" an invisible and remote observer in some circumstancies. Sense, but from WHERE? Pheromones? In "gas city"? Not that likely.
