So...
new place, new need to buy a kitchen.

Problem: New kitchens are expensive. Even simple models easily run >1000 euros,
and they look it.

What's your approach to this problem?
What device (induction, ceran, gastop...) do you prefer for cooking?
How about refurbishing an old kitchen? Where's the best place to find such a kitchen?

Has anybody ever worked with 'dry transfer'/'toner transfer'?

Lot's of questions
So long,

ok...

next question

How do I get my Firefly guerilla
onto the wood? dry transfer? print, glue, and apply finish till it shines?

Direct printing? Saw one machine that reputably could do this - but don't have
a distributer here in germany so far...

Simple models are fine with me. I`m a simple cook. I prefer gas, as I have better luck controling heat.
No meat should EVER be crunchy.

Apply glue and coat with acrylic epoxy. Nice shiny finish and provides excelent protection.

Gas all the way. True convection oven.

Do not go with a Ceramic cook top. We have one and if I could afford to... I'd throw it out.

The problem is that all your pots & pans will probably have to be replaced because they likely aren't flat on the bottom and the slightest crown means uneven heating because the ceramic top is flat flat flat. And when it comes to flat bottom pots and pans that will actually REMAIN flat ... well they ain't cheap.

The only thing that makes the stove tolerable... is the true or full convection oven... and I must say it is a real treat.

But 'gas' is the biggie.

NoJive, your thoughts echo the concerns I have with ceramic ('ceran') cooking tops,
but does anybody have expierence with an induction top?

It also has a flat glas top, but the heat is being generated by 'magnetic voodoo' right
in the bottom of your pots. Contra: You can't use pure 'stainless steel' or glass pots,
but any ferromagnetic metal (or sandwich bottom pots) works,
and the vibe I've heared is that the heat is 'right there/right off' when you
turn the knob, almost like gas, and the glass surface itself only get's secondary
heat and isn't nearly as hot as a ceran field.

Unfortunatly, gas is a bit out of the question - too much fire regulation, I'm afraid
for an old 'half timbered' house (that's what the dictionary says...)
And 'regular' old metal cooking tops... what century is it again?
