Seriously,

Is there anything you do outside of a browser? I mean I sure there is; but isn't it a significantly smaller percentage than what you do inside your browser. (excluding development work of course).

Guy just doesn't know what a UA is.

That aside, it's still silly to claim the death of a technology is imminent via a medium that will only be accessed by that technology.

Sounds like the argument that browsers/websites are the death of printed newspapers, just even more daft.

His company seems to be focused on building apps for platforms and he is likely their evangelist.

From their site:

quote:

? intuitive and dynamic mobile applications and environments for Android, iPhone, BrewMP, Symbian, Windows Mobile, and others ? embedded systems for rich media, IPTV, home appliance, retail kiosk, point of sale, transportation, healthcare, and other emerging device markets .

His claim that the Sunray is only a niche product belies the fact that I work for a company with 80k employees 40% of who run on sunray2 systems. Ah, the location...San Francisco...his mindset is probably based on the flavor of kool-aid being served up in the 'cutting edge bubble' that web innovators sometimes live in. I'll go out on a limb and guess that he says the words 'cloud' and 'synergism' multiple times throughout the course of his day and lists his Mac, iPhone and iPad as tools he could not live without.
