I know it's been done before, but just wondered what you guys are up to now.

Myself married with one son and one on the way next may.

Managed to get some serious web design work, worked on the rolling stones tour advertising when they were in the czech rep and lots of stuff for coca cola etc.

on the 3d side, produced some commercial addons for a few games, currently working as a freelance 3d animator when i am not teaching.

hope you guys are all well.

I got married in September last year and our daughter is coming at the end of this month

Haven't had much "geeky" time the past months with work, the pregnancy and other personal things. I hope I'll manage to squeeze out a bit of time for some creative projects during my parental leave when our daughter will sleep. We'll see how it goes.

Arthurio: Please do. I'm a lazy bum and need some kick to get productive. Most of the creative stuff I made recently were triggered by some challenge of some sort ( JS1K, seeing some insane 128b prod in x86 assembler, a silly meme, ... )

As a result, ANY video containing music (even rights-free and Creative Commons licensed songs) are not broadcast in Germany.

Business is good, that is cool, but coding seems like just a chore at times, that does bite.

I wonder if we shouldn't take over the5k.org maybe? I know that'd seem like tons of bytes to poi! I've have an interesting decade since I last frequented these halls. I went to the dark side for a while making online casino games. Hello, fellow inmates!

This seems to be the thread where people are popping in to say hi, so... hi!

It's been a really long time since I've dropped by, and it's nice to see the familiar design and even nicer to see a lot of familiar faces!

Wow... it has been a while, hasn't it. Anyway, what's new for me? Well, for one thing, I think I'm going to have to change my title--it is Master Suho no more. Yes, that's right--after many long years, I have finally finished my doctoral dissertation. Got it printed up last week and then submitted the requisite copies and paperwork on Friday, so I am officially done! I'm not officially Doctor Suho yet, though, as the graduation ceremony and the handing out of small pieces of paper does not take place until the 29th of August.

I kind of liked "Master Suho," though, and we all know there's only one real Doc around here... So, all things being equal, I think I may just stick with good ol' Master Suho.

So that's what's been happening with me. More changes are likely to take place now that I have this new piece of paper under my belt, but what those changes will be I cannot say at the moment. I'm sure they will be exciting, though. I definitely feel it's time for a change.

(Now let's see if I actually remembered my password... Huh, it looks like I did!)

I work in a cardiologist office as one half of their IT department. When there isn't any IT work to do the keep me busy in billing. The band I started about the same time I began lurking these halls is actually gigging on a regular basis and writing original music. If you'd like to check us out, we have facebook and youtube. I'm still looking for someone to take over singing so I can focus on guitar, so try to disregard the vocals lol. My music is the closest thing I've got to offspring for now, but I'm truly glad to hear that everyone is doing so well.

Hello Guys,

It's good to see everyone is doing well. In the old day this place was bustling with he noises from the inmates. But now silence is king. It's good to see everyone drops every now and then.

I have been a sound engineer for a while. When my daughter got born i did not wanted to work at night anymore. Thus i am following an evening school in Library Sciences / Information management. Changing carreers did mean a new job and starting on a lower ladder possition. I just worked a year in a social services muncipality archive. Next weeks i will need to find another job once again.
For now i am happy this place is still ere and still as no adds on it.

I always remember this place with great fondness. I learned so much here and made so many lifelong friends.

It's great to see so many of you doing well. As for me I've been busy with many of the normal things I suppose. I am married to Lady Bugimus and we have a beautiful little Bugimus girl who is our joy. A few years back I went through a difficult time with my employment and personal issues but thankfully came out of that darkness to a bright and wonderful world.

I spend most of my time these days dedicated to my family and my church family. I don't really do much on my website but I always think that one of these days I will. It's more of a shrine actually. I have a stable day job for which I'm extremely grateful, doing "computer stuff" I suppose. Wella and I are exploring ways to build a home based business so in the next few years we could get more income but all in all we are fine as is.

I drop back here from time to time to wander the halls and remember. Who knows, perhaps one day we'll all finally have the reunion and meet face to face like we always talked about. For now let it suffice to know we are all still quiet inmates in this forever special place.

Would be nice to see you drop in more often, Bugs. Getting kind of empty in the Phil forum without you...

Been a while since I've checked in as well, though I read this thread from time to time.

Since we're doing life update stuff, the quick version:
Working for the same company I was back then. I am on the operations side, but in a unique position of working on data analysis and metrics reporting, all of which I do in my own web-based environment...putting all of our data out there for easy visibility and reporting for our users.

All of the web work I do these days is internal, but it's been great stuff. Real time multi-user SPC for our QC auditors in the mix as well.
Lot's of ajax/php/mysql. Thank god for jQuery

Daughter is about to graduate high school.

Hey, cool, I'm still alive.

Frankly, I'm amazed.

It's great to see that portions of the old gang are still here, sort of, sometimes, and that people's lives are hopping and doing stuff.

I've moved jobs a few times since I last posted here. I'm one of those dreaded public servants now, doing all kinds of secret and no-so-secret stuff for the Australian Government. I have allowed my skills to become sullied with VB.NET development (the horror!) and I've moved away from systems administration, which frankly does bother me sometimes. I miss it, just like I miss this place. Hell, I miss all of you, including the few who would royally annoy me on a daily basis (you know who you are. If you don't, too bad).

Oh, and I finally took up photography like I always wanted to. Once I get my butt into gear and build a gallery I'll put stuff up. Mostly nature and landscape photography, and sweet, sweet macro shots.

It has been a long time for me too . Looking back - this place and the Gurus Network were my salvation after my husband passed away back then - it kept me busy with the pong and learning how to code, translating some of the tuts at the GN and just simply motoring along at both sites.

Life goes on even at 56 my daughter moved back, met a great irish fellow scorpion - going hiking and shooting pics, stopping at the local pub for a guiness on the way home and taking in some blues. Life is good !!

I am happy to read you are all doing great !!!

Wondering what happened to the Emporer - hmmmm - are ya out there Emps ?

Holy crap, lot of familiar old faces!

Great to see guys like DL-44, Bugimus, WebShaman, and Skaarjj still around

The long and short .. mostly short

Moved from Florida to Texas in 2005, Married 2008 and bought my first house, Had a baby 2010 and now my life is over ... haha j/k. Currently working as a Applications Director for Autodesk Inventor CAD software at a major Railcar manufacturer. Much more focused on Mechanical Design and Engineering than programming these days and I love it. Up until last year I still did PHP/MYSQL, but all freelance/personal projects - I miss it. Pretty much the only coding I still do professionally is VBA / VB.NET for the API of Inventor. Recently resurrected my DeviantART gallery and started doing digital art again - yay! =)

Recently entered a game design competition and won grand prize:

Look for an iPhone/Android version towards the end of the year. Really excited to be doing my first solo game, tech has progressed so fast so quickly.

I should really list most of the old Asylum crew in the credits, ya'll helped me a lot with my design/art/programming skills back in the day.
