Count me in. I've never been all that great at chess, but I can usually avoid the most capital of blunders. |

All right, Perfect Thunder, head on over to Stan's Netchess and get yourself set up with a player page. Then provide a link to it from here, please. |

what is the average skill level around these games? |

The skill level is definitely in a wide range. It would be hard to pin down. Sash was definitely on the "fear the mighty hand of Zeus" level. WebShaman unnerved everyone he played cause of that strange habit he had of sharpening his tomahawk during the game. And there were a few of us who had a hard time scraping together any wins despite some close games. The nice thing about this style of tournament, though, is that by the 3rd and 4th rounds, everyone is playing against folks of comparable strength. |

Hmm, this turned into a decent sized gathering of loonies... The more the merrier quote: So, no, not any 'scheduled' times to be on to play, even though you could talk to your opponent and set up a time to play every now and then so you could possibly get several moves at one sitting, rather than just a few moves a week... |

And if not, there's still plenty of Wednesdays left... It's not really like we're gonna run out of Wednesdays anytime soon... I hope... ::gets a slightly worried look on face:: |

Yes, er, um, my apologies. I'll get this kicked off as soon as possible. I've been engaged in interviews for a new job that popped up out of nowhere. Could be a good step forward for me as far as responsibilty and pay goes, so this matter has taken a high priority for me this past week. As such this chess tourney and the Ripper Report content projects have taken a back burner. |
