How many Mac users does it take....... to bake an apple?
NONE
There is no way the woman who brought in that PowerBook for repair was a Mac user. We get nervous about people who haven't washed their hands touching our computers. That had to be her husbands/boyfriends Mac. He was probably spending far to much time with the PowerBook and far to little with her.
I found that website deeply disturbing. I have hidden my PowerBook and may never be able to look directly at an oven again.

So.. this is the 21th century form of apple pie?.
The problem with the mac is the machine is too easy...
The wintel crowd has a lot of struggles and problems to overcome and thus have to learn something about it, and thus a certain minimum of knowledge is needed.
Mac users on the other hand, they only have to plug the damn machine in to wall socket and the machine is up and running....The only thing they have to worry about is how do you get rid off those fingerprints on the nice shiny case.
Oh and if you don't understand i'm joking... look at your computer

Man! Your post really came in handy. I had completly forgotten to take my laptop out of hiding and check it for fingerprints. Thanks, that was a close call!

"tech support probably told her to try a 'warm boot'.."
Then she would have roasted a pair of high heels.
I'd say if she was onto tech support, they probably told her to stick her head in the oven and she didn't even get that right.
To be honest though I'd say she wanted to recharge the batteries but was high on LSD.

What else are you going to do with your laptop after you leave it out in the rain?
I suppose you could put it in a microwave. That would cook it faster.

Just a question.. how many of *your* (pointing at windows folks) laptops would survive a 20 minute bake in an oven? The computer, minus screen, still worked.. if that isn't a testament to Apples quality, I don't know what is.

P.S. Though yes, I do agree with whoever said the thing about LSD. Heh!

Yes, because that should be the benchmark by which you rate the quality of a computer -- its ability to survive a good broil.

After almost a year, just when I thought it was now safe to bring my precious out of hiding again.....This subject is like some hideous reoccurring nightmare that has made it difficult for me to have my PowerBook out of my direct line of sight without getting the shakes.
Please, I beg of you... Let this thread die, let it fade away so that all that remains of it is a bad memory.
And can you just imagine the bad Karma that chick got from this? Why couldn't she have done the world a favor and toasted a Dell? I'm thinking she's gonna come back as Dung Beetle next go around.
