Well, me old mate, right now I'm sitting here in my house and I'm thinking no, but I do believe if I was standing in your shoes, having drinks with a nice lady, I'd do it. Then again, I do believe having a significant other would weigh heavily on the decision, and I'd just have to put my damn foot down and...uh..well, um...mumblemumbledowhatthewifesaysmumble.

first - is it something *you* could morally do??
second - you have to take into consideration your wife. what you do, to an extent, reflects on her as well. is this something that she would be ok with?
third - is this something that would be religiously ok??
i personally feel that if what you're doing (whatever it may be, in whatever part of your life) is something that you're not ashamed of or something you're not embarrassed to talk about, then by all means do it. the things that 'i' would be ashamed of or embarrassed of won't be the same things everyone else is ashamed/embarrassed of. i also don't feel that just because you're doing work for them (whoever 'them' is...could be a porn site or the nra or right to life...etc) that you're supporting their views/opinions. others may feel that way though.....
i guess....it basically comes down to what you're comfortable doing and if you're ready for what comes of it...whatever that may be.
i personally, would do a porn site....but i wouldn't do a teen porn site. nor would i do any 'freaky' porn sites. ( though, it's not something i have to worry about because i'm a vet nurse....not a paid designer )

Seems pretty straightforward to me.
The site is for an Escort agency, so I'm guessing it's not pr0n.
There really isn't a moral issue here, unless you have a problem with girls escorting men to business functions (the bulk of thier work I should imagine). Most reputable seervices are exactly that... reputable.
Even if the do offer 'extras', there'll be no mention of such on the site, and no hinting at them either. Otherwise, they'll get closed down before you can say 'Michael Finnigan'.
Ask your wife how she'd feel about your taking the job.
If she says 'no problem' then do it. It's money in the bank.
If you don't feel 100% comfortable putting your name to it, don't.
Do the site, take the cash and say "Thank you very much, upgrades will cost you an arm and a leg" - muahahaa!
Would I do it?
If my partner said yes, of course I would, I have a mortgage to pay!

my 2 cents...
If you're actually going to 'design', then an escort service is a business like any other. If your just going to be posting pics of "Hardcode Hannah taking it in the ears" and it's going to be bad for your portfolio, then just drop it.
Unless, of course, you're going to be taking the pictures... now that just a whole 'nother story...

Well...
First of all, never underestimate a woman...hehe...maybe she knew about you beforehand...stranger things have happened...don't rule that out, even if you don't know her. If she is smart enough to get an escort business off the ground, and run it, then she is smart enough to pick out someone to design a site for it...goes hand in hand.
As for do/not do, your choice, then discuss it with your partner...
Good luck, and remember, never mix business with pleasure.

The dilemma seems to be twofold:
1. She seems to want to get in my pants should I let her. Two thoughts:
a) She is a professional escort her job is to talk to men all night and seem interested in them - she wouldn't be setting up the firm if she wasn't very good at it
b) She is a professional escort - there are 'extras' in this trade and you really don't know where she has been (but you could say that about any potential sexual partner).
2. If it is a proper escort agency and the 'extras' are arranged between the girl and the client and it isn't just a front for prostituting young girls then possibly. I would:
a) Need to know moe about it.
b) be wary of doing anything in the adult industry in case it sucks me in (as mentioned before).
So to answer the two different parts:
1. I suspect its just the way she is bu I'd be cautious anyway (even if you were single).
2. Possibly.
Let us know how it goes

hi Ini. i seldom post personal advice, but your story moved me to share some thoughts. first, a story. when i was single, i hated having to get my car fixed, because mechanics always metioned that payment could be taken in trade. if i said i had cash, they would do the job, but were less than friendly afterwards. without having to be told, i knew i would have to find another mechanic the next time my car needed work.
if your Moy says ok and you do the job and discover Ms Escort wants to bed you, but you refuse - then what? will your professional relationship be the same? Not likely. to start with, her actions, as you describe them, don't indicate anything resembling a "purely" professional attitude to me. so my 2 cents is: Forget it. Move on.

Hey...
this reminds me of a story...
When I was a freshman in college, I thought I had heard of every cuss word/ bad naughty thing in the world, but alas I was wrong. The guys upstairs said they were getting an escort service, and I being the neive freshman that I was thought that the escort service was a guy with a bus that would drive us all around town. So I pitched in and discovered that an escort service is not a guy with a bus, but a woman with no clothes. Well needless to say after I found that out I wussed out and was short 15 bucks...
Still I dunno man, sounds like bad mojo too me....

Away from the whole who is fucking who in a sence.
As always I am going to reccomend a good little contract with money down. If she is really an interested client then the money down does not have to be a big issue.
I would say $50 up front for sketches, she supplies you with the photographs, or you charge her $100 for a small digital classy photo session so you can get some material, and then the $50 for the sketches. If she is interested the money will not be an issue. If the money does come up as an issue I would be pretty assured that she is attempting to take you for a ride.
From what I read she seemed to act the professional type, so you should as well.
With the contract, whatever price you settle down on, 25% up front, 25% half way through and the other 50% when you complete the project. She supplies the both the money for the hosting as well as for the domain name. You should not need to put any money up front. Also if you are offered a percentage, you might be inclined to take it, but don't take it in leu of cash. The cash is what keeps it all honest.

Honestly, I take the job...but I'd be up-front with her. I'd give her my usual client spiel:
I'm only here to design the site or take the photos (You'd be amazed how often I've become tech support)
I get paid in cash. I don't do trade-outs nor am I donating my time (I've done work for non-profits in the past)
My prices are not negotiable. I am not a car salesman.
If you don't pay the bill, I'm gone
And in your case...
I will not be involved in any illegal activity. I'm just designing the site. If I see anything illegal I'm gone.
Of course I also have one advantage- My wife handles all the project and client management for my freelance work. So she would be the lady's regular contact. But as long as the above are met, the lady's money is as green(or whatever color it is in France) as anybody else's. The nice thing about portfolios is that you get pick what goes in them. I once did a shoot for a processed meat trade magazine. Not glamorous, but it paid well.

hmm... a magazine on the trade of processed meat..
or a magazine on processing the trade of meat...?
...think hard before you answer.... since both answers would be likely to end up on Mad Magazine at some point...
