well I never was a big cartoon watcher...only back in russia

there was this super cool cartoon I always loved...I dunno how to translate it but it was about a wolf and a rabit ...similar to Tom and Jerry, I just think its older

..honestly I first saw Ninja scroll when I was about 8...not full movie LOL...my causin turned it off at that part

the first anime I have ever seen was probably guyver..since they didnt show animes on TV in russia...I saw it on VHD....

and I always hated DBZ..in fact I used to hate anime until like 16...when my friend lended me Akira and Ninja scroll...then I started to understand anime
and always was more into animated movies.

and I still hate DBZ, I think its just stupid...I hate the art

When I was a little kid (back when stones were soft), my favorite cartoon was the Ant and the Aardvark. The Aardvark was so cool... he had this kind of yiddish accent and was more than a little sarcastic. He reminded me a lot of my dad, who also loved the show. We would watch it together every Sat. morning. The Aardvark did , however, have a bigger nose than Dad. But not by much.

mobrul, that class would ROCK. we watched an old bugs bunny cartoon in one of my history classes once and the amount of propaganda in there was amazing. classic stuff is just awesome tho.

i was going to get upset if no one had mentioned batman: the animated series and batman beyond, both incredible work. anyone seen the unedited return of the joker movie? fantastic story-telling, rent or buy it if you're a fan of batman beyond.

i was also a fan of starship troopers, i had a few friends that worked on the series actually. i think there's dvd's of those, anyone got 'em? i'm also a cowboy bebop fan, but was before it got popularized on cartoon network. the same director did the third episode of the animatrix, and the style really shows thru. great stuff.

All these cartoons and no mention of Jhonen Vasquez' Invader Zim !

Great Classic: Ulysses 31 <- a lot more interesting than any science fiction these days, its futuristic but about Greek Mythology.

(the two mentioned above, you'll only get them through means such as kazaa or a dodgy site)
Anyone know if Jhonen condones the downloading of his cartoons ? I doubt he'd mind as it was canelled on him and nickelodean won't sell it in anyform, they might show it again though.

"Bring back the MAX! And Eon Flux!" <- Damn straight , MTV used to be cool, or was that kinda cool stuff just on MTV Europe ? There was that series about the guy with the alien inside his huge head, that was great. mtv... its just the Justin Timberlake channel these days.

Care Bears in the HIZOUSE! j/k

Insider, I completely disagree! I used to think South Park was stupid because it was all fart jokes and stuff, but now they're takin' current events and bein' hilarious

Other than SP, its all about Sealab, AquaTeam, and Family Guy (the old ones too). Occasionally I'll watch the Simpsons or even Dexter's Lab and DBZ.

(edit]
When I was in the age group that cartoons are targeted for, I mostly watched Beavis And Butthead, Ren and Stimpy, and Rocko's Modern Life.

I've always been a big Simpsons fan. I find I can watch rerun episodes over and over and still laugh at them. Most of them, anyway.

I'm fond of most of the Cartoon Cartoon series on Cartoon Network. Especially Dexter's Lab, and I really liked I. M. Weasel - it's a shame they don't show that anymore. Cow & Chicken was good too - by the same person...
And the Animaniacs. Funny, all the really good cartoons get cancelled for some reason...

When I was younger, I watched the Transformers, GI Joe, and all those afternoon flicks.

And I will always love the original Looney Toons. The older I get, the more I appreciate the subtle humor of Bugs Bunny... there's more to that wascawy wabbit than slapstick!

I still love cartoons and watch many of the current ones with my kids, but because the younger guys have covered a lot of the newer ones, I figured I'd list some of the older ones that I remember liking when I was a kid that I don't think have been listed yet.

Go-Go- Gophers
Wacky Racers
Speed Buggy
Catch That Pidgeon
Bat Fink
Boris & Natasha (Actually from Bulwinkle I think)
Grape Ape
Speedy Gonzales
Quick Draw McGraw
Super Chicken
Mighty Mouse
Popeye
Woody Woodpecker

And I know Scooby Doo has been mentioned but I have to echo what everyone else has said.... It's a classic except for any of the episodes with Scrappy.

Synax - The name 'Dinosaucers' came to mind when I read your post. Does that sound familiar?

Of course, I also liked "Eek the Cat" ("It never hurts to help!" and Sharky the Sharkdog!), with its secondary cartoon, "The Terrible Thunderlizards", about a three dinosaur strike-team that hunts two early humans who are constantly inventing fire, the wheel and such...
