Let's just stay focused on the topic shall we? This is getting old as it ends up in almost every topic lately. Sometimes NO reply is a better answer.

Ok, so most of us agree there is need for a change or two.

I think the best thing to do now is to just email Doc with a link to this thread and let him decide on the best course of action, or inaction. After all, he's the one that has to make the changes. We've given our input on the situation and I think that's really all we can do for now. I just don't think sendng Doc a list of names and saying "we want these people to mod these forums" would be the most polite thing to do. I know he hasn't been here much lately but this is still his house.

I don't think anyone intended this to sound like "this is what we're doing". The intent has been discussion of the issue.

....and to get the input of the various forum mods - it isn't really worth wasting the Doc's time if nothing actually needed doing

On the *dissappearing Mad Sci* thing, maybe remove their name from the forum header( as Michael suggested) and there is no need I see to alter their status. We`ll still love them when they return.

Don't know about removing titles...that's always a touchy subject...and I wasn't around, the time that Doc removed them all...so I will refrain from commenting on this particular subject...whatever the Doc decides, is fine with me...it is his home.

New mods...I really would like to see Master Suho be 'bumped up' to Mod status...and V, Drac, and Michael as well.

Has anyone written the Doc yet, on this subject?

I don't see the point of them being listed as a mod if they don't even come around anymore. If they come back, they can have their job back.

Well we could always demod the mods that aren't frequently active and then send them an email telling them to get off their asses and come on home if they want their position back .

Insider is right but i think send the email first and wait for reply...no reply? no MS.
Personally i don't think we need more MS's. But maybe a couple off Psychotics would be nice.

We've alrady cover this...

No MS's are going to get their rank removed. This is about making sure we have people "moderating" the site's forums not removing peoples privilages just because they haven't been around for a while.

we don't need anymore, what we have right now is enough to keep this site going. right guys?

I'd be prepared to put some time into server-side and-or XML/etc. if anyone thinks they need it. I'm not a prolific poster, but I am a 100% reader, I have skills in those areas, and at 50+ I hope I'm "old and sensible" enough for the job. I also won't be in the least bit miffed if the answer is "thanks but no thanks" ...

Just to clear up any missunderstanings: I'm not a mod in the site reviews forum. But that said I would gladely do my share for the community. As Trib I'm not a very profilic poster, but I do read most of the posts around here.

I think Suho would make an excellent mod in the site reviews forum, and Trib likewise in the XML++ forum... And Drac could fill the role of Psychotic in most the forums around here...

But it's up to the Doc to make the desicions... Any one heard anything from him?

Some of you are turning this into something I never meant it to be. I wanted to appoint some new mods on one simple premise:

Certain folks don't come around here anymore so it might behoove us to appoint some new folks in their place.

*I never suggested stripping anyone of their titles.
*I never suggested removing anyone as a mod who is still around and wished to stay a mod.
*I never said anything about removing anyone on "moral grounds" as Ini put it.

Some of the forums are really building up large numbers of old threads. I thought that assigning some new mods might help get some people in there who would clean up their forums.

That's all. Now, can we leave all the other BS behind and continue the discussion off the abovie premise? Please?

If you have problems with each other or a persecution complex that needs stroking, please take that somewhere else.

Since i don't have the time for coming around as much as i would like to, i understand if i get removed the 'psychotic' status, this is just for people who colaborates with the things in here, and i'm not doing that lately, i just want you to know that mod or not, i'll take all of your pills...
