A rhetorical question perhaps ... but maybe this time we'll know more. YES!! Eurpoes first attempt to land a research vehicly on another planet took off successfully this afternoon/evening on top of a Soyuz and is now on its way to Mars. I feel particuarly proud, not only to be part of the organisation which could develop on such a mission, but also because it was one of the first web sites I did for our Planetary explorations division ... here is the url of my site - http://www.rssd.esa.int/MarsExpress/ - it's a bit dry because we're the site for the science community, so if you want more background and "layman's science" you can try http://sci.esa.int/marsexpress/ as well. |

Life on Mars... cool. I hope so. Blur? I was just listening to their CD lately. They used one of their songs in a promo for Starship Troopers. I hardly think we'll see any kind of action like that on Mars though. Probably just as well because it would look kind of funny fighting a bunch of algae with space marine weaponry. |

my opinions towards astronomy has changed a lot when they showed the series about "Landing on the moon is a hoax" |

Life may or may not exist on Mars, but anyone who thinks we are alone in the vastness of space is out of their mind. I truely believe we are not alone in this great universe. |

A great tribute to the power of the Great British Eccentric - you couldn't create a fictional character like the Open University prof in charge of the Beagle project |
