so I break out this old computer that has windows 95 on it. I go to download ie 5.5 with softpaq 2 and
I find out that its no longer available for download. So no I have to find a CD on it with explorer 5.5.....

kinda lame. At least these old browsers are gradually fading out.

Yeah, MS dropped support for IE 5.5 a while ago. 'course, they also dropped support for 98 starting (I believe) the first of next month. And ME isn't far behind that.

They never really supported ME in the first place.

When I was trying to upgrade one of my computers from ME to Win2K the installation didn't recognize ME as a legit Windows OS. When I called MS tech support they told me that I would need to get a CD that had a full version of 95 or 98 to drop in the tray to be recognized by the installation program, and that if I didn't have one this was one of the few times they said it was okay to borrow someone elses.

Ha!
