Ok I'm really not sure what is/has happened but earlier this morning I turned on my computer and after about 30-45 minutes of being online it vitually froze, although it wasn't completely frozen but it took at least 30 seconds from the time I clicked START untill the menu opened. |

I forgot to mention I also have moved my computer a few times, from my house to my brother's house across town 2 times for a week each time so its been moved 4 times within a month. I'm thinking the problem isn't with the IDE Cables as it detected like this before. |

Well I checked the IDE Cables and they were a tad loose but I'm not sure if that caused it. It seems I got a Trojan Downloader in a file called SysReq.exe in my C:\Windows\System folder and RAV can't CLEAN it so I did the Quarantine thing. So far so good, hope it lasts. Thanks again for the suggestions and help. |

If you have got a trojan downloader and your antivirus cannot remove it, try booting up into SAFE MODE ( if you can ) and then run the AV again, if the TD is present in the startup processes, then SAFE MODE may be the best option to catch it before it loads up. |

Wow I just got home from school and did a search for Sysreq in my computer and it's gone...completely. I also checked the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run for it also and found a few things I never seen before and know they weren't supposed to be there so that took care of a few pop-up problems. |

For your own peace of mind, I'd recommend defragmenting your drive as well as doing a full scandisk (with surface scan). Since clearing the virus from your computer seemed to fix the problem, I'd guess that was the cause, however, it also matches the pattern experienced right before a drive failure so a defrag and scandisk wouldn't hurt. |

I really like RAV Online Scan as there is nothing to download, it's always up to date, and it scans for malware on a limited basis. The biggest downside is that it is not proactive - ie prevent an infection beforehand. |

I had the same problem after installing a new drive in my computer. It would lag and and crash WinAmp on me. THen on reboot some of the drives didn't connect. |
