So the breakdown was worth it after all

Here are some sugestions to test your system:

Try h2bench for testing your harddisk.

Nice upgrade. I recently upgraded my pII 300/8MB vid/64MB Ram to a AMD 2500+ Barton, 1GB Ram 128MB fx 5600 ultra. No more waiting 3 minutes to open up some of my photoshop files, and I can finally run Photoshop 7 decently enough to be able to say goodbye to 4.

heh...

monitors, never the place to cut corners... unless you cant afford them.

So i am running both two viewsonic monitors, ctr, 19inch and 17inch. gheto. I love it. The desktop actually works out quite nicer than i expected... and the 17incher is just extra play room.

oh... and If you are in the market for a 19inch viewsonic... dont get it.

Hokay... Got a problem here...

My Promise Raid controller is installed properly but it refuses to believe it has two (2) hard drives connected to it. Drivin me nuts over here. Time for another movie i guess. i dunno...

hrpfft.

so... my 2 40 gig drives seem to be dead.

they had a lot on them too... i guess the power surge took them... although i dont understand why it did not fry my other harddrive.

When pluged in they wont do a thing, so i think i am pretty safe in saying... foo.
