any ideas on which MoBo I should go for, every review i have read seems to conflict - figures.

i wish for
2.8 P4 HT compatable
800 FSB
400 DDR

I want something with intergrated GPU, i dont do 3d or games. I have a high end sound card so no worries there.

any recs.

I doubt that you'll find a decent P4 motherboard with integrated GPU (all motherboards with integrated GPU are plain crap IMHO). So, I would suggest you to get ASUS P4C800-E Deluxe motherboard - you won't regret it...

A previouse thread on a P4 MB.

My recomended P4 MB. May not be the best but it will certainly be in the top ten and I think it has the integrated video but I am not sure.

Buying Suggestions
The Asus P4P800, equipped with the Intel 865PE chipset (Springdale), is a very copetitive motherboard out performing the more expensive Canterwood chipset due to some MB specific tweaks. Asus is a good company and I have seen their boards do long term heavy workloads with no problems.
A P4 2.8 with hyperthreading is the best money to performance CPU from Intel.
DDR RAM is dirt cheap so why not get 2x512?

integrated GPU is just nasty.

And the P4P800 delux is a nice board... I just got one a month or so back, and I love it.

GPU-Graphics Processing Unit
A fancy way of saying the chip in the graphics card that makes the pictures. When they first started using it it was mostly a buzzword but with the newer programable GPUs calling it a Process Unit and as such saying it is on par with a CPU is justified.
Also APU-Audio Processing Unit, still just a buzzword.
