ok, I've been over the boards and through the archives...either I'm totally blind or I can't seem to find any help on creating those nifty little drop-down javascript menus. Was wondering if anyone here had a link to a good resource so I can learn it. pretty please? I'll give you my dose of black pills...

Quite honestly, if you hadn't used the word "gingerly", I don't think I would be posting this. I skimmed your post, hit "back", and caught the word on my way out, so I came back, and now I'm posting. Hah. Funny. =)

Um, www.dhtmlcentral.com has a dropdown script, but don't use it if you don't understand it. Here's the stuff involved with a good dropdown menu script...

absolute positioning
getting the position of a non-absolutely positioned element
visibility changing
mouse movement and click detection

Which of these do you know? Learn them, and then you can come back to this question. Might be a bit of time, keep at it. =)

Amaruuk: Most good DHTML script repositories will have a drop down menu (and the very best ones will walk you through the script explaining things as you go along) so have a look through them and see what takes your fancy. If you have problems implementing/understanding it or it isn't cross browser compatible enough then don't be shy about asking for help here.

I also wouldn't go waving a handful of pills around in here - Wakkos wil have your arm off.

Amaruuk:

Check this one out. It actually will work in Opera5 as well as some other browsers that are hard to work with. I am using this one on a site that I am doing. If you have any questions about it post it. I have used it and know how to use it.

BrotherCake Ultimate DropDown Menu

<ps>Forgot to mention that the one that Slime posted doesn't work in Opera 5 and is real quirky in Mac IE4&5</ps>

Thank you guys so much. I shall bury my wee nose into those links and kick-start the brain into soaking it up. If it works, you guys get your own shrine at my desk.
