Topic awaiting preservation: could not open (Page 1 of 1)

Not to sound "stupid" but, just out of Photoshop class last week, computer lost its life in a lighning storm the next day - starting brand new today with a new computer and 2 weeks since class. Tried to open a photo in Photoshop and get this prompt : "Could not open "E:\Images\blah.... .JPG" Because it is not a valid Photshop document". Thanks, appreciate the help !!

have you tried opening the image with another program? Just to see if it is a valid file?

and if it is - you could try saving it maybe in a different format and see if you can open in PS that way.

Never had that problem but that would be my next step.

If the image displays in say... Internet Explorer just take a screenshot of it and import the BMP.
