to create an effect of messages being typed in a sig..

My first try I typed each letter individualy in photoshop and then saved it .psd and opened it in Imageready.
with several other frames created i was unable to remove the letters without doing the same to every other frame.
am i doing some n00bish mistake?

No, not really.

But try it this way instead, it's more logical:

1) In PS, type the first letter of your text.
2) Now dupe that type layer, add the next letter, then hide the original type layer.
3) Repeat this process until all your letters have been added.
4) Before switching to IR, hide ALL layers.
5) In IR, you should have one frame by default. Unhide the first type layer. This is frame one.
6) Add a new frame, hide the first type layer, and unhide the second type layer.
7) Repeat this process until all type layers have been assigned to a frame.

TIP: if you hold down the SHIFT key while clicking on the first and last frames, you can set the frame speed for all frames, all at once.

That should do it.

Do you have to make a new text box for each letter? I just tried it in IR 7.0 and changing the text seems to change it for every frame, it'd be cooler if you could change the same textbox between frames

I would type out the entire deal, dup it as many times as needed, once for each letter, then mask out whats not needed in each frame...

That will work, i dunno of anything easier in... have not used it enough.

yea fragmaster, the exact same is happening to me...

trying to get it to look as if the text a glow appearance that changed color from light to dark, but doesnt seem to be workin, i'll post my solution as I someday come across it
