I am writing an general outline for how I deal with clients and considering handing out Exit Surveys to them to get their feedback about my services. What better way to learn than to ask the source directly? Also this make me appear more professional.

1 Do you think this is a good idea?
2 What types of questions would you ask? Any sources on the web?

Thanks.

Make it easy to use (circle 1 for 'great', 5 for 'take a hike')
Make it easy for they to send back to you (postage paid, or internet based survey)
Make it easy for them to tell their friends about you (easy web links, cool postcards they can mail onto their friends, etc.)
Make it worth their time (if they send it back you will give them 5 free hours on the next project that takes over 40 hours to complete)

Thanks. I guess I thought the survey was kind of built into my standard business practice and did not think of offering a reward for filling out the survey . . . but its another way of looking at it. I will keep it short, maybe one page. Circling numbers between 1 and 5 are clear alternatives vs having them write a few sentences. I will let you know when I finalize the questions.

Thanks.

Don`t kow about sources, but the standard questions would be,
Were you satisfied with the service?
Was your project completed on time, on target ?
Would you recomend ?
Do you have any suggestions for improving service ?
bla, bla, bla
