Topic: And yet... another site review...

I registered new domain name and was playing around with some stuff...new domain is www.diveinit.com I don't have my server setup yet. I have to call hosting peopple up... but for now here is what it looks like

It doesn't open in full screen yet, but despite some people not liking it here I am planning to do it BBUUHHHHAAHAHAHH!!!!!!!!!!!!

what do you think abotu the overall design?

Oh yeah and its not 800 by 600 optimized...so.. you might see the scroll bar.. I have to adjust the layers better..

that is pretty clean... slick... im to tired to rip it tho... hey! whats with the real player opening and playing a "close window" noise after i close the winder?

and I can click em windwos but they wont drag.

Hhmm.. thats weird.. it didn't pull Real Player on my computer..

I have a problem with those layers.. you have to double click them and then you can drag them.. I dunno why

Yah, and when you click the linkiepoo that opens the windows... real player pops up and plays the opening sound.

Humm... No real player here either. Although I ditched that shitty background app it installed automaticaly. I really don't like third party browser plugins trying to take over my puter. Maybe it's how you've got things set up on your puter eyez?

The double click & drag thing is definatly not intuitave. Hopefully you can fix that.

I just lover the colours. I've always had a huge thing for orange and yellow tones but I've never been able to make them work the way I want them to. I've labled Orange and Yellow my elusive colours. Anyway...

I actualy think the orange background for the site gets a little too intensive when you close all the windows. Maybe overlaying a subtle background image might help to break up the giant glowing orange square thing you've got happening there.

Come on Duci, you should know by now that people aren't gonna change their screen res just to view your website.

Again, you should know better. Although, you are warning people which might help stem that auto close reflex I've developed from surfing all those war... um, yeah all those por.... oh. Well, you know. Those site that have all the popup's and stuff. Yeah.

I like the simplistic style and minimal insets you've got going. Although, I'm not liking the white borders on the buttons. Actualy, you seem to be 1px wide white highlight crazy. The dark grey panels have the same tone highlight as the light grey ones. As does the orange panels... It kinda stands, Good? Bad? eh, I've have to see it done differently to decide on that one I think.

I also noticed a 1px orange line down along the right hand margin... Is that meant to be there?

Appart from that I like it. Simple duo tone sites have always apealed to me.

Oh. You could try tinting the grey tones ever so slightly to shift the mood of the colour scheme. I try not to use compeletly unsaturated grey tones. They just look lifeless and dull to me.

What is up with those funky white dashes that I am getting? If I click somewhere on the screen, I get them. I can do a screen shot if you would like. I get that sometimes on Bratta's site too.

Everything looks ok here...

I have to mess around with colors a little, I know...I am thinking about throwing some graphics in the background.

I guess what I want to do is to make this think look like a desktop of some kind.

oh yah... I lost my big pocket knife... I really am annoyed at that...

I dont have RealPlayer open... it is not runnin in the systray... It just opens when i click that stuff... weird...

I don't mind that splash page, because it's small graphic size, and it's a clean layout...
and sometimes they need to know what resolution is best "even if they don't plan to change it"

I like the site overall, the custom windows are a nice touch, and I like the color scheme... Looks like nice site..

edit- (I might be late, but I don't get any white dashes, no realplayer crap comes up, and the windows open on single click and they drag for me)
