Well, the new version is online, go check it out now! I am not sure about the color of the text and the thumbnails though. Still no flash header , but I kinda like this one. It might show up within a few days.

Hmm, it's pretty and all, but I had to take my glasses off and stick my nose up against the screen to even attempt to make out what the texts said. Is there something wrong with my machine, or is this page supposed to have red type on a darker red background? I like the little rulers in the header, but everyone knows I'm kind of infatuated with rulers these last few months, heh.

In one word? CONTRAST. You need some more of it, at least on the red background, we've already got a nice light/dark contrast between the red and the brusehed steel, which only highlights the lack of any contrast in the content area.

Yep, looked pretty but I didn't stick around 'cuz I couldn't read the text. I didn't really have much desire to look at purty pictures this morning.

Now, I'd like to be able to read it.

CryoniX: I think the others have pretty much nailed the problem - the previous version was, in my opinion far better than this (in fact it actually looks like something is wrong - like a semi-transparent red layer has sneaked it). It also draws all the life out of you grey surrounds which were working nicely.

I changed all the thumbnails and used a 'fade in and out' script. I also changed the text color, but I am not sure if it's the right color and size. it's readable though, well at least for me it is...

CryoniX: Having dark red text is a slight improvement but it is still eye-strainingly difficult to read. If you are going to keep the deep red then I'd suggest going for a very pale reddy offwhite.
