I've really noticed all of the strange handles that people have, even mine would be strange if you'd never played Unreal, but I was just wondering, how did everyone come up with their names? |

Well depending on the mood Im in I either tell people that I came to my name after watching Top Gun (one of my fav movies) one to many times. One of the piliots names is Jester and I changed the 'er' to 'ah'. Truth is I just like the name Jestah. Always have. Ive been told it fits my personality pretty well to. I dont even know what Unreal is so yeah Skaarjj is a little weird of a name. It sounds like the name of a fish or something, still cool though. |

my "handle" was created when i began playing diablo back in '98. i wanted something that sounded feminine as well as fantasy bookish. it simply means "lady sasha", so its sort of a contraction. sasha was a dog i got for my 15th birthday. |

My handle's an altered Klingon word, but it doesn't mean anything. I'm no trekkie, but I just thought it had a nice ring to it. (you pronounce it like mike-a or maika.) |

Years ago, when I worked at my first police department, my partner at the time started calling me Pugsly because he said I reminded him of Pugsly Addams from the Addams family. I changed it to Pugzly for the hell of it. |

Mine is based on the speed and voraciousness that I employ when drinking coffee. Friends started refering to me as twitch, so I picked it up. |

I built my first computer when I was 17. My buddy introduced me to the internet shortly after and told me that I needed a 'handle'. Seeing as how the band Jackyl was my personal favorite at the time (They still rank in the top ten) I thought that 'The Jackal' was only fitting. |

Got mine from trying to sign up for a hotmail account. Everything good was taken. So I was working in the computer biz and coming off of a bad break-up (ironically we got back together and now I am again going through a bad break-up with the same girl). Anyway "just a bit damaged" cam from a song I was writing at the time and made a cool kinda play on words with my situation at the time. |

Funny, I always thought I was original too. I figured no one else in there right mind would ever take a name like Jestah besides me. That lasted till i discoved AOL and realized EVERYONE had that name. Then I built my first website and called it Jestahs Relm. Yes I know now that it was spelt wrong. After submitting it to several search engines and then waiting I decided to see if it worked. I searched for Jestah and about 200 different sites came up ... not including my own. Oh well. |

[peer] is from a late night of IRC, when a bunch of people were disconnecting with the message "Connection reset by peer." I tried Peer, but that was taken, so I went with [peer]. I am now known as Chuck_the_Plant on IRC, but I don't feel like making a new profile for the board... |

ahhh, the exact origins of my handle are a mystery even to me. The guys I use to hang around with about 12-13 years ago (grade 4 ) used to call me all kinds of weird permutations of my real name which I think just got slowly weirded and more off the wall until suddenly I'm a turkey gizzard (although that's usually spelled with a g). |

I was working on a simple little site called War Journal, so I am now using it as a handle on these forums. I've also been known to use Grendel, GrenXXIV, Drommond, Lynn, NTwomanHAL (that was given to me by a guy that didn't know I'm male), and on UT I use Stroker. |

Here I go, earning my geek points. DL-44, your name IS from star wars. It's from the BlaTech DL-44 blaster rifle, prefered side arm of BOTH Luke Skywalker in ROTJ and Han Solo right through the whole series. BlasTech also produces hte DM-92 Blaster Carbine and components for Turbo lasers and Heavy Turbolasers. |

My nick comes from IRC, its the one i use there, but i just came up with something which i liked the sound of, and when i found the meaning of the verb in english (pure luck i think) i decided to keep it. i tried to change a few times but never managed coz everyone keep callin me Rend on IRC. My sig. comes from Blizzards' "Warcraft2". In the tips section they included some funky tips like "Don't spit into the wind", "Change your underwear every day", "Tell all your friends to buy WC2" and of course "Never Pet a Burning Dog" which turned to be my favorite saying and sig. |

Wow Trixter ... you seem like a load of laughs. Geez If you threw cellery at a pictuer over someone else head in NY you would be picking the cellery outta your ass. Interesting how everyone got there "handles" or "nicks" but whats everyones real name? Im Jay. Really its James but so is my dads name and everyone used to call me JJ cause of James Jr. Eventually it was shortened to just Jay. Three guesses on Dan's real name ... |
