Hi, I was just wondering if there was anyway to setup my home computer, on the internet with an IP address for a webpage using Apache Tomcat or IIS for windows XP? On the internet as in I can type in my IP address from some place else and access it. I have a verizon DSL line and a D-Link DI-604 Router, Thanks.... |

I setup no-ip the freebie addition, and I can't seem to get my website to work, the address leeand00.servehttp.com pings just fine, but it doesn't connect me to the website when I type it in the browser. |

Ok, well I was talking to some guys on the IRC today, and they told me that the problem was that PPPoE and VPN were hiding my real IP address, because I'm behind Versizons gate way....is there anyway around this? |

Well, what about your router? Is port 80 opened up and pointing to the internal IP of the PC running Apache? |

not only that... the ISP you use could have port 80 blocked |

Yeah my isp blocks ports like that to outgoing traffic, so i setup my server on port 100 for apache, and 101 for IIS. It works like a charm! |

Hey Guess what! Today I accessed my webpage from college! And it even resided right here on my home computer! However for some reason it apears to only be able to load text and (*Squeses his fingers togeter*) very small images... |

If it's asynchronous DSL, then your upload speed is gonna be much slower. |

if you're a home user you probably have asdl, I have the 1.5m service from swbell and the upload is capped at 150k. |
