Hmm... I think I was the first one to become a mod this board. It was back when HTML was enabled, and someone did something that messed up an entire thread by ending the table or something, by accident. I used to go to a board where people did that *all* the time, so I knew how to fix it up by posting a new post, and apparently it impressed Doc so I got to be a mod!

I'm not sure I've even done anything that moderators are allowed to do since then...

Why not let Doc choose who gets to be MS or Ps? I don't doubt that we could make suggestions as to who should or should not get the nod also.

I don't think we need to establish how one becomes an MS or P, if we were to do that I doubt that I'd be an MS or that mikey would be.

I gotta ask again, why do you guys want to make this so complicated? We get a froum area and we gotta make rules, we gotta make a contitiution, we gotta tell people how they can become Mad Scientists themselves?
I don't see the need for all this, am I alone in these feelings?

To wrap up the off topic stuff, I just want to say this.
As Dl-44 said, in the early days there were just 4 MS...and yes I felt pretty priviledged being one of them. However, over the last couple of months or so, it's taken longer and longer to keep everything together, archiving and moving posts, closing threads etc etc....
Doc created the role we all have as a way of saying tkx for being here on a regular basis. For stepping in and doing some of the things that he would love the time to be able to do, giving advice, critiqueing others work, and keeping the Asylum from degenerating as some other Forums have.

This place is NOT about politics, police states, ego trips or how many posts you've made.....this is about a fun place to be, a friendly bunch of guys (sorry Shiiizzzam, Ladasha - and gals), a cool place to learn and an opportunity to show off our skills. I'm sure that all of us here want to see this great place kept that way.... <img border=0 align=absmiddle src="http://www.ozones.com/forum/smile.gif">

That said, perhaps someone would like to do the honours and close this thread. IMHO, I think it's just about run its course...
