I recall a thread similar to this a while back.... I think it's been abducted after the most recent clean-up..
Anyway...
I used to listen to a few of the tracks off of the General's Daughter Soundtrack...
Hmm... tough to remember off the top of my head...
I think some were...
- She Began to Lie (I'd put it on repeat for hours and just zone out)
- Rock Island Line
- Carmina Burana (I think this is a fav of many people)

Recently my tastes have changed while I us PS or Flash...
I commonly listen to Joshua Redman... and on occassion I'll put in some Coltrane or BB King's older stuff...

BTW you guys do know that Jason has left Metallica. From a guy that always called him Jason New-kid, I will miss him. I went through the search for a new bassist some 15 years ago with Metallica. At the time I never thought they could replace Cliff, and they never did. But they did go on. I only hope that they find a bassist with the same strengths as Jason and Cliff. (At least this time, I'm not waering a black armband)

I never got into The Melvins, it just wasn't my thing. I have a slight interest in Mr Bungle, after Faith No More started doing the New Kids On The Block covers. I laughed my ass off, and I wanted to know more about them.

Of course I listened to most of CoC's stuff. CoC had some huge help from Jamez when they were getting started.

As far as the whole Metallica thing goes, it's been going on for years. It started before Kill 'em All was recorded. (Yes, I've been listening to 'em that long. When they went to the studio to record K'eA, you should've heard the comments then.) All I can say is either Metallica is something you really love and are a fan of, or your not. And well, I am. And I love it.

The rumors abound about Metallicas next bassist. Here's a sample of what I've heard and some of my own comments.
Iron Maiden bassist will join Metallica. Not a good idea I think, Bruce Dikerson just rejoined Maiden for there best album yet, it blows past albums out of the water (yes *all* the ablums including SSoSS). Les Claypool will disolve Primus and join Metallica. Fifteen years ago Les was Kirks choice for new bassist, and was one of the top five runners up. However if this were to happen I know many Primus fans who would slit there wrists. (BTW Les has played with the band on many occasions) Here's a rumor that, if true, would make me slit my wrists. Dave, you know which Dave, yeah the looser who should be drawn quartered and shot. Mr. Mustaine will be the next bassist. (ick) This is most definitiley a rumor.
Who do I think would make a good next bassist? One name comes to mind: Lemmy. You know the old joke; 'In a wrestling match who would win, Lemmy or God? Trick question, Lemmy IS God.' Lemmy loves Metallica, he has played with them before, the first time he hopped on stage with 'em I thought Jason was gonna shit his pants. Now everyone I've suggested this to has told me Lemmy doesn't sound like Cliff or Jason, Lemmy doesn't sound like Metallica. To which I have to say, the boys never replaced Cliff, Jason had is own sound which fit. And Lemmy's sound will fit.
Whatever the Metal Milita decides, they are gonna have to decide soon. They are still going into the studio, and the new album will be out in either late 2001 or early 2002.
