Well, I'm back! Took three days off the internet to rebuild my system after a catastrophic system failure UGH! It just wouldn't boot no matter what I tried. Started having problems after trying to install Zip drive software. I had to start from scratch (DOS because I don't have recent versions of anything-too cheap tp spend the money ). I lost everything and my zip drive, I think, is the culprit and it must have taken 14 installations because of various problems (modem driver, display driver, CDDVD driver, not on 3.5" disk which was my only drive for installs for a while) and I spent seven hours this morning before I got the basic Win system to accept my modem driver. I'm exhausted! But I can't believe I'm the only one to go through this. Tell me your horror stories so I don't feel so bad! (I looked in the archives for this but didn't see an entry {smile}) God it's good to be back and HP hardware SUCKS!

One time I left for vacation and didn't bring any black socks.

Had to go and pick up a couple pair.

Scarred me.

For life.

One time, when my friends took me to the hunted house for haloween, me being a foreign person without knowing haloween holiday or what the hell hunted house is went in one. So we were walking and first room I look to my right and I see this monster sitting on a chair about 10 feet away. They had the strobe light going so when I turned to the left and then back to the right I saw that "monster" right in my face. I got so damn scared that I threw 3 punches right in the face. I had no idea that it was a real person. I though it would be some kind of robot of something. After I found out that it was a girl. I felt very bad but I didn't get arrested.

So here .. this is my story ...I had more of them but I just can't remember any of them now. It's friday, St.Pats day and I am ready to get the fuck out of here and go drink some alcohol

Well, after posting the above, I thought I'd install my Zip drive. Now I'm using my wife's 'puter to surf and look for another 'puter. That's right, the iomega software, or rather the HP system's, failure to handle a simple software installation caused another irretrievable crash and it won't boot. Are you guys sure you've never experienced anything like this? Or are you all just laughing

A friend of mine showed up at my door once with his computer and a serial cable. He had King of Hearts installed and then he added McAffee or Norton or something and lost his entire harddrive. He spend around 3 hours sucking various DLLs and system things from my drive.

Nothing like encrypting the drive, modifying the boot sector, then installing anti-virus software. Maybe he had the anti-virus on there first then KOH. Can't remember, but it was pretty bad. It was pretty funny as well since he's a major computer guru. Lesson learned.
