Well, I just discovered the main perk of working for Adobe today, besides the fact that it's a great place to work and everybody's nice and the location is terrific, etc...
The Employee Purchase Program. Basically, I can purchase any Adobe product for $25 - $40. International versions cost $60 usually, and the main exception is Font Folio which costs a whopping $1,800 for an employee to purchase, but from what I understand, it's twice that to anyone else. Even more cool is that with most products, an employee can purchase 5 copies a year, and is allowed to give the product to family/friends. The only thing is that the employee is not allowed to make money off giving the item to someone else.
Oh, and just for clarification, this is the end of my first week here, and I love it!

You have been getting all those birthday cards I've been sending you, right, HS?
On a completely different subject, I sure could use that new Premiere 6...

Hi, Eye!
I got the job through a recruiting company... I never thought I'd actually get it though! They had the position open for 8 months without finding anyone they wanted to offer it to... they even told the story about one guy who came in for his interview late, not dressed in a suit and they asked him questions about his experience and he couldn't verify any of it... they asked him questions and found he had lied about most things on his resume! So I'm working for the LiveMotion team out here in Massachusetts now.
As for this perk, I know the first thing I'm getting, Adobe After Effects! :-D
And yes, I am a tease... but I love my job. :-) It's a new thing for me!

Never thought of wearing a suit? I always thought it was standard measure to wear a suit to a job interview... unless it's something like a job at a fast food restaurant or a factory... Actually, nearly every place I've interviewed at that I wore a suit to the interview, I got a job offer from.
I do know some about Flash... I did some flash work while interning at Aurora & Quanta up in Portland, Maine. Besides some stuff that never got put up on the web, they had me clean up some other guy's Flash work. Boy, that wasn't fun, but I learned a lot from it. <shameless plug> If you hate the way Macromedia Flash is set up, and are used to the Adobe interfaces, I highly suggest you look into LiveMotion! It's user friendly and simple to understand. </shameless plug>

You have to PAY for the software? Thats too bad. I get all mine for free and I'm not limited to Adobe products.

Live Motion is a nice product, but it's about two versions behind Flash as far as scripting capabilites which is where a lot of the power lies. I do want to check it out more in-depth tho, can't hurt to learn another product. And I REALLY want AfterEffects as well, that or the LightWave upgrade will be my next major purchase...
