Preserved Topic: Win XP and Webcams (Page 1 of 1)

I recently installed Win XP and I can't seem to get my webcams to broadcast on any software. I've tried NetMeeting, Yahoo! Messenger, and something called Camarades. No luck with any of them.

Anyone had any experience with configuring the built in firewall in XP?

Ah, I've got XP, but have avoided all of the firewall tools it's got, I just want it to run my applications! So far the only webcam app I run on this machine is WebCam32, and it performs just as it ought to, no complaints. Sorry I can't be of more help, just wanted to let you know that they *can* work, heh. I still haven't even found where you get access to the firewall!

Go to your Network Places, click on the connection that you use to connect to the internet and click on properties. You will see it there.

I advise against using the winxp firewall - u don't know what its doing!

As for program compatability, if a prog doesn't work, then right click it, then click properties. Under the compatability tab fiddle with those options - it usually works for me!
