I was just surfing around on the photography section of deviant art and thought it would be nice to have a photography section here in the Asylum. I know that Shi has been posting a lot of photos on her journal and I hear that Steve is an excellent photographer. It would be fun to have a place where we could see what Asylumites are photographing.

It would also provide a good resource for stock photos.

I like the idea of having something for photography. In Shi's water drops thread I mentioned having a stock photography area and Emps said that the GurusNetwork would be a good place for it.

I would love to see something like this. It's a new hobby for me and it's a big part of art. I don't think anyone can top my pics from Sunday....me and one of my girlfriends were taking pics down at the riverfront park and climbed the crossing light pole to do some shots and a train comes by and blows at us. We waved until they stopped ! They even let us up in the engine car for some pics haha

Most of my pics lately are of old log houses and stuff. I'm hoping to do more as time permits. I don't mind if someone uses my photos for graphics...anything to help It only makes me happy that someone liked my work

Stock Foto Graphy At Gurus would rock seriously I would love dat. If ya need Fhotos for it Let me know... Alot of structureing would be neededthough... because of foto quality and size. yah... great idea!

I could put a photography section at Gurus Network if that would work.

Cool...I may post up a few more textures I have...a awesome red bard door that the paint is old and stuff. Just post links or something and I will be happy to share

I have a large number of mountain photos I could contribute ... just gotta take the time to scan the buggers. I live right by the Blue Ridge Parkway and my family takes off into the mountains damn near every weekend. I take my Nikon F4 and start snappin ...

Yes this would be great to have photography section as I have started to take photos with my digital camera and would be great to share and get feed back. Anywhere will do in GN or here I think it will add more uses and get more people into photography. Also to start them taking there own photo's then using stock photo's (this goes for me too . I need a push to go and get my camera, instead of the web).

So is there going to be one in here? or just at GN?

So what is the deal with the Guru's Photoshop forum? Will it just be a forum for people to post like here when Shi posted her groovy water drops?

That wouldn't be bad but I would like to have something that could be listed in catagories. That would be some work though. Don't know if anyone would have the bandwidth to do something like that. I have very limited space on my server.

It seems to have got a good reception and DmS seems to have already got a script which could do the job. As CPrompt says a photography section is good (thanks Pugzly for starting that one) but an image archive will also be a very useful addition.
